I try to get to the range once a week or more and when I do I usually shoot what I am carrying. Exceptions are when I am testing after some modification or adjustment or for example, when shooting a particular gun jess for fun.

I try to go 3 or 4 times a year, but honestly I've only had my carry piece to the range once to run a few boxes through it as function test a few months ago, and it hasn't been out to play since.

I shoot a number of differnt things two or three times a week, and these days, usually shoot 100 rounds or so with a duplicate gun of what I carry each time out.

I dry fire all sorts of stuff every day too doing various things. Theres a lot more to dry firing than just snapping a trigger.

My usual carry has been a G42, but it really a little big for a pocket. If the world seems especially nuts, it will be the P365.
I'd really prefer the size of the LCP, but the damned thing is so little fun to shoot that it rarely sees a range run.
My previous thread here has been a search for an LCP alternative that is fun to shoot.
Think I've found it with a Bodyguard, and it will see weekly shooting...if it continues to perform, I'll go looking for a spare.
God forbid, push come to shove, you want to have confidence in yourself and your sidearm.

The exact same handgun? Not particularly often.

But I almost always carry one or another of my snubby revolvers, and I shoot some snubby or other on just about every range trip.

Practice with one is pretty much practice with all of them. I've been shooting j-frames almost 40 years and my hands know what to do by now.

I am known among my friends for the phrase, "Practice is cheating" for at least a couple of decades. I've been using my carry gun from concealment for USPSA and some local "carry gun" matches for years. For most of that time, the matches were my practice, so during warmer months, it could be 2-4 times per month and colder months, maybe 1-2 times at indoor matches. Earlier this year, I got tired of how my skills had eroded since 2010-2012 based on placings in IDPA and other matches matches in that time period and a wake-up call from how poorly I did at a recent Steel Challenge match. So since then, I've been actually practicing at least once per week at the range and still shooting as many matches as I can. I'm not sure how much it's helping, but at least I'm working on it now. I have not used a timer for a couple of months since I used it to observe some bench marks of my (then) current ability level on my draw/one shot and Bill Drills from AIWB with concealment on an 8-inch steel target at 10 yards. I do know that my confidence is returning and fumbles and other errors are diminishing in frequency.

I have not yet re-instituted a routine of dry practice. I am keenly aware of the benefits, but mustering the necessary discipline to actually do it currently eludes me. I've seen the results and dramatic improvements in a number of other people made possible by regular dry practice combined with some live fire practice. I anticipate that the necessary discipline will emerge soon, given that I've made big progress in that regard in other areas of my life in the last year and a half. Motivation is based on emotion, which eventually wanes and fails you. Real long term improvements arise from discipline, which is independent (at least for me) from emotion.

Range time at least twice a week but I always shoot something different. Sometimes I fire a mag off of the back porch. I don't rally have a set rotation for my carry weapon. Practice is practice imo...

I try to hit the range about once a week. I'm not training or anything, heck, I'm not really even "practicing," I'm just going shooting. I've almost always got a 38 and reloads along, so it's no problem to shoot at least a few rounds from my 642. Sometimes it's with wadcutters, sometimes it's with P+ HP's.

I dry fire it a lot too using snap caps.

These days I’m inconsistent. But I try to get to the range a couple times per month. These days, I’ve been giving rifles some action they’ve not seen in a while.

Honestly, now that I have red dots on most of my carry guns, my accuracy has improved greatly and I retain it better. Love that dot!

Well, by the results from Saturday's trip to the range with my daughter, much more practice is needed with the EDC. We shoot at playing cards from the 7 yard mark, if the group is good we keep the card as a souvenir. The first five rounds from the EDC didn't even touch the card. It was hitting a couple of inches low and to the right during slow fire with both hands. It was embarrassing and shocking. Under duress that kind of shooting could be hazardous/life threatening for bystanders and the shooter. I eventually got hits on a card but they were disturbingly inconsistent. Time to burn more 9mm. Great thread, thanks for starting it!

I shoot handguns every week usually. I have a membership at an indoor range and go just about every Saturday morning for a couple hours.
I shoot my CCW at least twice a month, sometimes more. I also like dry fire practice and have an I-Target with the laser bullet. It allows for draw from concealment and has a shot timer and buzzer so you not only see accuracy but can get times for those first shots from the holster.
