i saw the thread What was your first gun?

and there were alot of current guns listed,

so how old were you when you got that first gun.

i was 6-7 but it was a BB gun then at 10 came the 410, 22, and so on.

Air riifle at 6 as well as my dad's .22lr single shot bolt from time to time. He taught me to shoot a 12ga at 10 and I killed my first fowl in front of him on our first outing:). He gifted me my very own, keep in my room gun (NEF 20ga single shot) at 11 years old. I love that old man, I guess that's why I spent 6 hours building a wireless network for him.:barf:

at 5 I got a Daisy 880

At 10 I recieved a Marlin Model 60 .22

At 13 a NEF Single 12ga

At 18 I got a Iver Johnson .22 Revolver

I stuck with those til I got out on my own and started to fill the gaps. I still have all the originals!

At 22 I got a Winchester Wildcat .22
Then, at age 22 I got a Winchester Model 94
Then at age 22 I got a CZ75B

I hope to get an AR at age 22, but I've got to do it in the next month.

I was 15. It was and still is a Winchester 1400 12 gauge auto shotgun. I still hit better with it than anything else but won't carry it when quail hunting because it is so darn heavy. It is an awesome gun though.

I had a bb gun at age 7. I had my own 22 rifle at age 14 (9th grade). First center fire was at age 16 (just barely). I bought it myself.

I applied when I was 18, but by the time all the paperwork came through and was finalized I was 19 before I finally got my first gun.

I was never allowed even toy guns growing up. I think my mom knew that I would be a gun guy.

I was 19 when I got my first gun, and never had anyone show me how to shoot. I taught myself, and sucked up to anyone with good information.

Now that I have my daughter, she will be learing to shoot much much younger than I did.;)

I don't know how old I was when I got my first BB gun, but Roy Rogers and Sky King were still on TV. I guess I was six or 7 or so. I literally wore that BB gun out. The only gun I can say that about.

Santa dropped a 20 ga Ithaca under the tree when I guess I was 13 or 14.

A Winchester single shot .22 that I bought with money I earned tossing papers and doing odd jobs. 1958 - I was eleven years old. I went down to the local hardware store and purchased the gun and ammo myself. Nobody blinked an eye.

Here's the "rest" of the story: This actually happened in California.

Times have certainly changed, haven't they? With the help of the likes of Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein, Jerry Brown, the Governator and a host of other social engineers, the state is now a much, much "safer" place to live. :barf: - for criminals, that is.

I'm truly thankful, I got my butt outta there.....:neener:

12 1/2 -- Remington Model 522 Viper, yes I still have it but I don't shoot it. If you've ever felt the trigger, you'd know why  I didn't know any better, I just wanted the gun because it looked cool. My first EBR?

BB-7
.22lr- 11
.300 Win Mag-18
105mm- 25
120mm- 28
TOW-29

I think there is a pattern here but I cant tell what it is.

I think I was about 13-14 when I made my first gun.

Maybe about 16 when I bought my first store bought gun. It was a single shot bolt action Remington.

Got a bb gun at 6-7, just about everything on our 10 acres got hit with a bb!
Santa gave me my 870 at 12, one of my two best christmas memories. The other was my 10/22 at 14.:D

BB gun at 12, my mom was against it but I think she knew she wasn't going to stop me from shooting. A couple of years later her dad gave me a .30-40 Krag that he'd had for years, that was my first real gun.
