I'm currently using the Howard Leight muffs, the lowest profile they offer. It's fine for handguns but for long guns, I can't get a decent cheek weld. This is for hunting so I need to be able to hear surrounding sounds.

Does anyone make a lower profile electronic muff?

How about a setup that just has a muff on one side, like wear you would use a plug for the ear closest to the stock, then the muff on the off side?

I have a set of Peltors, have had them about 25 years and they still work just.

Need to replace the foam covers over the mics............

I use Howard Leights. The Compact Sport.
I use these ALOT! I don't work during December. I spend all my time Goode hunting. These are amazing! I can hear the birds, my calls, my buddies and they protect my ears very well. I'm 25 and I already have hearing damage from goose hunting!

I bought the wife a pair and even use them while big game hunting.

Only $50!

The Howard Leight Impact Sports are the about the lowest profile after the MSAs, but I'm assuming that you're wearing plugs under the muffs.

There's a reason why the Howard Leight Impact Sport muffs are taking the world by storm. They're good, and they're cheap. They've often been said to be superior to $200 muffs by Peltor and the like. They have very good audio pickup and you can adjust them however you like. If you're hunting, they can actually improve your hearing dramatically.
