Increase in guns value since Obama.

"Predicting future behavior by past behavior"

I understand your point, and it is a worthy point of view. But they are probably predicting future election loss by past election loss.Back then the time and lack of alternative media was right for them (the early 90's) not so much now.

Now specially given the reports of mass buying since the election, plus internet everywhere now giving the media less stranglehold on "truth",and activism from firearm owners they may have woken up to the fact that gun ownership including EBR's are hugely popular now as compared to the 90's and that even liberal leaning Democrats enjoy firearms also.

All current evidence points that while they at first thought that their old ways would still be popular thus stating their intentions,it seems now they are back tracking or at least trying to stay away from issues overall that will anger the many gun owners of America.

Obama, the attorney general and Hillary Clinton can make all the side comments they want but there are many Democrats not ready to seal their political doom by joing the bandwagon of gun control.

Take it for what it is right now that guns are not a forefront issue for the Dems overall, and let this hysteria die down some, when they do bring real legislation up and it looks like it will pass then we can start being in real hysteria.

So far gun owners and supporters are winning...

I agree, so far, we are winning... but no winner will be determined until the end of the race. We are also being lulled into a false sense of security. How many times have we heard that the Democrats have bigger fish to fry than guns right now? Everytime someone says that, another gun owner is lulled into a false sense of security.

If things keep continuing on the path they are on now they won't need to ban anything. It'll be like NFA stuff; too expensive for most folks.
I don't look at it as the price of my current guns going up, I look at it as my firearms purchasing power going way down.

AK's and SKS. Two years ago, I purchased/built 3 AKs and 1 SKS... all for under $800

Ammunition stashed for those guns has doubled in price.

Personally, it might all go down a little. BUT, the AKs and SKS increases have as much to do with kits/rifles drying up as Obama. Realistically, if I didnt have three AKs, there is no way I would buy even one when I could get an AR-15 for the same price. Accuracy is better and ammunition is cheaper for the AR.

But, I have three AKs and an SKS, and I like the idea that I built the AKs, and that the last person to shoot the before me was a Communist soldier in a communist eastern bloc country. Somewhere, the folks that were issued and shot my AKs are probably still alive!

As long as Winchester makes brass... and bullets are available, I'll be able to shoot them. While it wasn't feasible to reload two years ago, it is now. I can still shoot at 2007 prices.

Bought 4 Romy AK parts sets a few years ago, paid $125 each shipped with US hts included. Last I saw, they were going for about $350 each, without the us parts. Too bad I built them. Also did a few FAL's, on $199 Imbel recievers. Ran about $400 with US parts. Doesn't matter what they're going for, I'm not selling.
