Tons of documentation here, including faxes, emails, and scanned notes. Searching on terms like "assault weapon," "large capacity," "gun control," "Smith and Wesson," "National Rifle Association," "Roundup" and others will dump a treasure trove of information that should satisfy anyone who's interested in the machiavellian scheming behind gun control in the 1990s.

A few interesting things I noticed:
Most of the communication early in Clinton's term is via fax. About midway through, everything switches over to email.

Handgun Control Inc. (Now the Brady Campaign) was considered a serious ally of the administration at the time, and some of their policy recommendations are flat out insane.

The tension after the 1994 Republican Revolution is palpable, there's a lot of time spent trying to figure out the best strategies for dealing with a Republican congress.

The DNC planners at the time didn't think there would be any serious Republican opposition to the AWB as they considered it a fringe issue for the party. It's interesting to note just how much more pro-gun the Republicans have gotten in the intervening years.

And the funny thing is they keep voting these same people in over and over again. :):) A good example Barack Husein Obama:D. Next it will be 8 years with Hillary, When will we learn:rolleyes:

Thanks for the tip, I'm looking at it now. I put in "Gun Control" in search and came back with 13318 results.

Edit: Found this. 10,000% Bullet tax proposed by Senator Moynihan

The Treasury was considering it at the time

"we would be pleased to work with the committee as it considers the legislation"
