You know WildAlaska, I don't really care what you believe. It just bugs me that you seem to show up on these threads only to make snide comments.

I don't think people should buy new S&W, Ruger, or Colt firearms; but I don't visit the thread of everyone who buys a new one to call them traitors to the RKBA. I don't know why you feel the need to visit every thread about the possible future extent of the fed.gov's abuses of our rights and make "tin foil hat" comments.

Well now lets look at it a different way...before the law change, ya wanted to carry ya got a permit, no hassle. You were vetted.

Now anyone can carry. Nw Im gonna be faced, on a daily basis, with totally untrained 21 hormonal immature baseball hat backwards struttin lumpenproletariat baggy pants
gangbanger punks who are gonna be carryin guns CONCEALED...they never did it before becasue they were too lazy to get a permit and didnt want to go to jail if caught..

Now its OK for them...and I guess that its OK for the 2nd A extremeists...but Alaska isnt homogenized Vermont (OK lets say it, lets bring it out..Vermont is 99.5 % white and "middle class", Alaska is not), we have gang problems, high alcohol rates and weather conditions that lead to "Spenard Divorce" (thats where Hubby or wfe or signifcant other shoots the other in Spenard are of Anchorage because they just cant take it anymore)

I wonder how the cops feel about it..

I honestly dont like it..I hope for the sake of gun people there arent any problems...

Wild

This is Wild's opinion on Alaska carry, as stated when it was enacted. Pretty telling, IMHO.

Balog, nice try, but your logic and analysis of my role as a loyalist is about as convincing as the constant threads that the "sky is falling:...

And why do I show up on these threads...simple...to show whover else is watching that the RKBA movement is not populated by a bunch of extremists who are ready to throw up the barricades and start shooting cops at the merest hint of something they dont agree with......

And MicroB, enlighten me please...from your comfy seat OUTSIDE of the US, tell me what is 'telling" about my opinion on Alaska carry

And the blood shall run in the streets!:neener:

Seriously, it seems you're doing as much as you can to distance yourself from people who support Vermont carry, but provided no proof than what you're afraid of will materialize...

WildAlaska: I don't want to get into a pissing contest here, but could you perhaps expand on what part of my logic is flawed? If you have no problem with today's fed.gov abuses, why would you have objected to the same type of abuses in 1775?

Re your statement on "Vermont style" CCW: if your local G's are willing to break the law by selling drugs or shooting people.... why would they not carry concealed because they "didnt want to go to jail if caught"? Why would they break certain laws with disregard to the consequences but not others?

When, if ever, do you think that the government will have the big brass ones to cancel an election?

Why bother to cancel elections when the contests are almost invariably between one statist parasite and another? Even if a contest were an actual contest, it's much less bothersome to rig an election—vide the recent gubernatorial election in Washington—than cancel it.

In answer to the original question, "When would the Government...", should we experience a serious natural disaster, a major economic depression, a major terrorist attack, or series of such events, the current government could possibly declare "martial law" and simply suspend the constitution. The most dangerous/powerful opposition could be arrested immediately, others forced to evacuate and enter refugee camps where they are at the mercy of the Gov. Insurrection could be met with Gov. force, with possible UN troops to back up the Gov.

This would of course, require a government that cares more about retaining power and enforcing its view-point than up-holding the constitution. Their actions would probably be cloaked as "required for the good of the country" or some such.

Anyone who thinks that the R's or D's have actually given a ???? about the ordinary People need to sit down and do some serious hindsight. Neither party respects the populace, they view voters with contempt, disdain.

Why would they need to over-rule an election? They're the only ones who can get elected! The last choices for president were 2 rich privliged kids from the N.E. (1 fakes an accent, though) that went to the same school and were even in the same homo-erotic fraternity (rigghht, we all jerk off in front of our buddies, oookkk).

Nullify an election, lol, they've been null for decades.

Um, not quite. Martial Law could be declared if and only if the civilian courts could not function. Once they could function, Martial Law would be void. Look up the real meaning of the term. As for suspending the Constitution? Um, no. Nowhere in the Constitution does it provide for such a thing. Should it be done, then I suspect that the line would be crossed for everyone.

Some of you guys must have stock in Reynolds Wrap...
Maybe... But the way things are going our children or our grand children are going to have some really tough choices to make in the next 50 years or so.

I wish I shared your faith in the American population.

Do you really believe that, if there had been a major terrorist attack last Halloween, there would have been armed revolt when (not if) elections were postponed "for the duration?" Because that's the moment at which such a thing would have to happen, and I don't think it would: judging by September 11, our national instinct is to get behind and support the President in such a situation.

Every generation has had tough choices to make concerning their futures, these in turn effect those folks and they will have to deal with it in their own way.

WA makes a valid point, about those that cry " the sky is falling". It gets old, same old BS from the same people with their axes to grind.

For Christ's sake, turn the record over.

12-34hom.
