Just how good is the KAHR CW45?

I've no experiance with the 45. However my CW-40 is completely flawless, with over 2300 rounds downrange. I consider it one of the finest CCW guns extant.

For every person who likes a "Gun", you will find an equal amount of people who dislike the same "Gun". This has been going on since they started selling more than 1 version of anything, since the beginning of time.
If you Google anything that humans are allowed to comment on, there will almost always be an equal amount of people who like it as those who don't. It's like trying to argue about religion or politics. Everyone thinks that their opinion is the correct one. You can and should go by what works for you. That is why we all buy so many guns, once we get involved with this hobby.
If you look at any thread in here you will find those who like a certain thing and those who disagree. All we can do is agree to discuss it, not decide what everyone else should do.

So true. I recently bought a kimber solo which has all kinds of bad reviews on the internet. It has not been perfect but it unbelievably accurate for such a small gun. I have never really owned a bad gun some just need a little knowledgeably tlc.

I have a friend who owns a CW45 and he likes it a lot. He hasn't mentioned any serious issues with it.

Out of the four PM40s that I've owned over the years the first three had to be sent back to Kahr for repair because of various problems. The main problem that I experienced with those three was it being extremely difficult to extract a live round from the chamber. Those serial numbers were in the 7xxx range. Those guns have since been sold/traded. The fourth one which had a 9xxx serial number worked flawlessly right out of the box without even needing a break-in period. My brother liked that gun so I ended up giving it to him as a birthday present. He hasn't had any issues with it that I'm aware of today.

I've also owned three PM9s and one MK9 over the years. The MK9 was a jamOmatic and was disposed of long ago. On the first two PM9s I had to fix the slide lock spring as their slides intermittently wouldn't lock open on an empty mag. Otherwise, from what I remember all three PM9s worked fine without needing the break in period. I still own one PM9.

I like the Kahrs overall. The subcompacts hide well and are very accurate. What I don't like is how they chew up cartridges during feeding and extraction and require the use of the slide stop/release to load a round in the chamber.

CW 9 has functioned flawlessly for my girlfriend since Dec last year. No issues at all. Even thinking about getting the CW45 for myself.

I had a bad Steel one when they released their first pistol. I sent it back and it still didn't run, I did what I always do, I dumped it.
15 years later I hear the PM9 is the bomb now, I picked one up that was used real lightly, "from a gentleman", and he already replaced the mag release with the steel one, and sent the gun in for Kahr, to polish the internals, and mag release along with the barrel.
"For the sake of full disclosure".
He may have done the work to clear up some of the issues you speak of. I had the same problem with the shield 40. Every 4th or 5th round, the mag fell out. Made sure my finger was no ware near the mag release.
These small guns require some tinkering sometimes to get them running right.
They also can suddenly go out of sync for several reasons. Springs, ,mags, extractors, etc. It's what we have to deal with when shrinking down a full-sized gun to a pocket gun. It can happen with any of them, from my experience. You need to spend the time to get yours right or move onto a different model. It's not any particular gun, it is the luck of the draw sometimes.
