Back from my favorite barbershop, in one of his old magazines, there was this article of the supposedly "Super .45" from Germany. Nice looking pistol, even Jeff Cooper was gushing over it since he was looking for a better locking system on big-bore autoloaders. Fired everything with no problems, great accuracy.
Since money is no object for me, (just kidding), I sure would like to see and try one out. I think it is officially the HSP 701. Checked all the auction houses, my local gun stores who never heard of it; nothing at all. BTW, it retailed for $1,200 twenty years ago.
Anyone ever see or had one? If not, hope I enlightened a few of you. Very much interested since I'm in a .45 craze lately.:scrutiny:

Thanks Spooky for the links. The 9mm, how should I put this, very "unique".
With a few trade-ins and some cash: maybe the .45 would be in my reach.;)

I searched gunbroker and auctionarms but didn't see any around. Not sure what avenues would be successful.

I surely hope you can find one, I'd love to hear a range report. Something 'new' is a pleasurable rarity.

I'll keep my eyes out for one.

There's a 9mm at the show here in Knoxville. It's available at the bargain price of $6,500.

Buzz_Knox, I'm not sure my whole arsenal is worth that much in trade for the 9mm.:cuss: I'm sure this must be case of "supply vs demand" in terms of the asking price...Besides, my quest is to go for the .45. Maybe I'll find an elusive owner who knows absolutely nothing about gun values and I can walk away with "highway robbery".

Like Korths, I've only ever seen them in books and I've been to many a range, gunstore and gunshow in my time. I was under the impressions those autos are no longer being made.

McCall911, thanks for the heads-up on the German site. I really liked the Odin's Eye...I'm Mad enough to sell my vintage AMX for this pistol...:D

Best of luck, Mad Magyar!

I thought these pistols were offered in a variety of calibers, but I couldn't determine this from the scant info on the website (using Windows "Translate into English", of course.) Could it be "any caliber you want, as long as it's 9mm?"

Glenn, really couldn't afford these pistols. I'm in this .45 craze lately and hoping to outgrow this itch. I've run into some good buys by pure accident so you never know . . .Almost had a lead on a Sokolosky .45 but it fizzled.:( I always feel the "hunt" is more satisfying than the purchase. . .

Good question…Just a few highlights from 1985…”The first thing you notice is the workmanship and finish. Flawless machining and polish, deep bluing and classis walnut, checkered stocks. Shoots 1 ¾ groups at 25 yds. The barrel is stationary to the frame, with the recoil spring wrapped around it. The clean slide sports S&W style combat sights, a squared trigger guard, a la Swenson and a short strike DA trigger. No thumb safeties.
Now an interesting feature. The barrel is fixed and the slide is locked in place by a roller-lock. This is done by a movable breech-block within the slide. When in the firing or forwarding position the breech-block and slide are mated and the roller lock is pressed into the frame by an incline plane on the slide. Firing the cartridge activates the rearward pressure, which first moves the slide to the rear a fraction of an inch. This also moves the incline plane releasing the roller that is part of the breech-block, thus it recessed into the slide, allowing the slide to cycle, loading the weapon for the next shot.
In affect, this makes a very smooth and soft recoil even with military hardball. It eliminates the sharp punch of the traditional round making it difficult to differentiate the recoil of hardball or wadcutter ammo.”
I can dream of some of these rare pistols, but one of my Sistemas will have to do…:banghead:

Buzz Knox,

Do you know who the vendor at the Konxville show was that had the Korriphila in 9mm?
