I just got the Auto Drum Measure and have been putting it through the paces. It seems to work very well with all types of powders, and may replace the Pro Auto Disk I've been using up to now. Nothing really wrong with the Auto Disk, but too often the charge is just under or just over what I'm looking for -- and I don't want to mess with modifying disks; lazy, I know.

The one "problem" I have is emptying the measure when changing to a different powder. The hopper's easy -- turn off the valve, pull it off the body and dump it out. But the body itself is left with quite a bit of powder in it. What I've been doing is just cycling it out into a case and dumping it into the bottle, but with the 9mm charge of HP-38 (4 gr) there is still about 15 charges left in the body.

Other than removing the measure from the die and dumping it, anybody have a quicker way to do it?

On the Pro 1000, I just pop off the double-charge chain, pick up the whole turret off the top of the press and dump it from the top of the measure.

What press are you using?

The only advantage of the body holding so much powder is it acts like a baffle and lets the powder drop consistently.
Not sure if LEE designed it that way or it just turned out like that.

LCT and Loadmaster (actually haven't used it on the LM yet).

How did I not think of that?!?!

I just unscrew the lower part from the die, dump the powder, hit it with a quick shot of compressed air to knock out any stray flakes, and screw it back in. Takes all of one minute if I go slow. Less bulky than pulling the turret off IMHO.

Another reason I'm glad I went with the Hornady LNL bushing system...a quick 1/8 turn and the powder measure lifts right off for dumping.

I'm planning on getting at least one to install on the LNL, using the bushings, maybe two...one for .38 and the other for .40. That way I won't have to adjust the drum or the actuator height
