A member of another forum sent me a Loadmaster he has given up on and I have a first glance this afternoon.

The case feeder was lost and it looks like the primer feeder is third generation.

There are 4 indexer/flippers and a new indexer, micrometer charge bar along with disks and measure. The shuttle and 1/4" rod are here and the toggle that connects them, a few risers, 19s shell plate and a tool head. I happen to have an extra set of Lee 9mm dies on hand.

What at else do you see from a first glance I might need before I start to play?

Don't need "a cool head" or "patients", looking for hard parts I don't know about.

There are tons of videos on the LM I have watched many but figured it would be as obvious to the seasoned LM user if something important was missing like I might see if it were one of the Dillon machines or an LNL. The LM is a new to me machine.

Loadmaster

I have one in the closet that has been retired for a Pro 2000. Looks like the upper half of the case feeder assembly is missing, only see one case feed shuttle and index rod that advances the shell plate. Didn't see any parts diagrams but lots of info at this site: http://loadmastervideos.com/

I don't see the primer rocker arm, but that might be due to the glare from the plastic bag in the background.

'Lee Precision' on Youtube has some great video's, also. Short and direct to the point.

That press needs a solid mount. Solid as in no movement. I think that causes priming problems for some people. If the press is allowed to shake then the primer can get shaken out of position as it is raised up in the carrier into the case. I also use Hornady One Shot on my 9mm cases just to smooth things out even further. And, use a universal deprimer in station one and your sizing die in station two with deprimer removed. This will align the case primer pocket directly over the primer.

Did the previous owner say why they gave up? Is something on the press broke, mis-aligned, bent, missing?

case ejector needs to be rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise. case feeder is almost no use without the case collator.

Hard to tell but the carrier doesn't look aligned properly. You'll know for sure of it doesn't index.

Make sure the primer system parts are all there (pin and spring).

Other than the case feed assembly (slider isn't missing though) it looks complete.

I also have one. Read the on line reviews and believe them. It is a complex cheaply engineered rinky-dink machine - IMHO. I can just about run 500 pistol rounds on a single stage as fast as I can with the loadmaster by time I get it tinkered into just the right mood - which doesn't last long. Mine now resides in the garage next to the tumbler where I use it as a single stage decapper when I get back from the range. Some people apparently like them and make them work - good luck. The videos are good info.

As long as I get to pick the single stage we have a deal but I have to get it running first. Have it indexing correctly now and have another priming system on the way.
