Long Range Rifle/Scope/PRS question(s)

I made a tool (Second try) to get a round out of the Rim-X chamber when it gets in front of the bolt/extractor, an extractor
that is fixed and will NOT snap over the rim. It works very well. Trick is to have it handy when you need it, which would be in
the middle of a stage....... on the clock........no time to waste.

1/4" by 1/4" rare earth magnets. Just in front of the mag well. Looking forward to testing it in a match. Hopefully it won't be needed much.

I soaked and scrubbed and soaked and scrubbed the barrel until 99% of the carbon was gone.
I made a little short "bore guide" for the job.

It was filthy, no excuse, just got busy/too much to do/too little time/lazy, to do it. Sigh, paid the price too.

It came clean, but it was a lot of work.

I put it all back together (with the Steiner Scope) and nervously waited to try it out. (I'll put the Nightforce back on it.)

Shots 1, 2,& 3 got me pretty much zeroed and showed me it wanted to put the bullets where I pointed, so I loaded 6 more (using a powder I have
never tried in Dasher, 8208). First 3 were slow and had a large SD, so I bumped it up by .2 grs to 30.8 for rounds 4 through 9.

Rounds 4, 5, & 6 in some wind, but forgot to hit OK the last time on the Xero and didn't get numbers.

Figured out the Xero wasn't set and got it right. Rounds 7, 8, & 9 in some wind.

Looks like the barrel is fine. That's 678 rounds down the tube now.

Primers are fine. Now to put the Nightforce back on it, break out the 8 Lb jug of 8208 and do a work up.

I've been reading a lot more about barrel cleaning over the last couple of years, which has made me change my methods.

Birchwood Casey liquid bore cleaner seems to be pretty mild. Using a nylon brush, I get the bore wet then give it a half dozen strokes, and let it sit overnight. A dry patched is pushed through and if it isn't clean, I repeat the process.

For the tough stuff, I default to Sweets. It attacks carbon really well. Frank Bartlein said it was okay to use as long as it is not left in for long periods.

I was told by a pro shooter recently that WD-40 is his choice for removing carbon. Years ago I used some to clean a bore at the range when I forgot bore cleaner and it worked well. Eric Cortina likes CLR... yes, the stuff you clean your sink with.

I am in the middle of working up an 8208 load with the 105 Hybrids for the going on mid life Bartlein, but need to get started with the Varget and the new Proof with the 105 Hybrids.
My Dasher and my 6BR love the same load.
30.6 Varget
Rem 7.5s
105 hybrids
2.414” OAL
dasher gets alpha brass
6BR gets lapua brass

What’s your speed difference between the two cases with the same load and same bullet?

My Dashers all shoot exceptionally small with 105 AND 109 Hybrids, and 108 ELD’s over 30.5grn Varget, Lapua or Alpha brass, Proof or Bartlein barrels… must be something going on with that charge weight in that case.

11 fps difference between the two
the 6BR is just a touch faster than the Dasher (2832 vs. 2821)
The Dasher shoots a touch smaller
Dasher wears a Proof 27", BR wears a Brux 27"
