As the title states, I have decided that i want to get a Maolon Labe tattoo of some sort (spelled in the classic greek of course). I would really appreciate it if you all would post up your tattoos. Right now im thinking about a spartan shield and a scroll below it reading molon labe but im not certain on that. Any help would be appreciated.

SSS

ps sorry the title is kinda off.

Tatts for gunnies

I always made a joke of it, but this year at Camp Perry I not only saw one, but TWO different guys with Distinguished Rifleman badges tattooed on them. One arm and one leg.

I think the wind chart for 69 Sierras might be helpful on the back of your trigger hand.

You could always come up with a form: Target # ___. Relay # _____.

A shield and some Greek is nice, but what about tatts that would WORK for you.

My tattoo tastes run a little more gothic, how 'bout a skull in a Spartan helmet centered in the shield with the Greek lettering looking like beat-to-heck steel surrounding the shield? Skull could be chompin' a bullet or not, depending on your taste.

Go to bowers Subguns.com and check out the fork and doghnut tats.

His trademark is the gear with a fork over. the gear stands for maker and the fork for weapons. Looks cool with the molone Labe under it.

Trying to upload hope for the best

SecuritySixShooter,

I do not mean to denegrate you personally in any way,but the whole molon labe thing has become kind of a joke to me. I see all sorts of tactical wanna be's and that type who have never done a thing take the saying and paste it all over their stuff. It is right up there to me with the " 1* ". I guess it makes them feel more manly. It is too bad, as the historical aspect of Molon Labe is a great example.

Here in Iraq many of my coworkers have their bloodtype and SSN tatoo'ed on the rib cage. Plus any info such as NKA (no known allergies). I consider those usefull.

Obviously, this is just one opinion, but most the guys I roll with would see a tat like that and instantly categorize the guy as a wannabe. I did like the idea of a comeup chart though! say M118LR. Of course having to change the tat for altitude all the time might be painfull!

Your body, your choice. Good luck.

I won't argue with you or the guys you roll with(I have no military or combat experience)but you could say the same of skull tats and grim reaper ink and even cross tattoos as well. I believe tattoos are personal art,a venue of self-expression,or a display of something meaningful. Or just kickass artwork even if it has no meaning to you, like tribal or celtic styles. Molon Labe means something to some of us,even if a lot of posers slap it on anything and everything. Some of the softest guys I know have full-sleeve grim reaper tattoos, and some of the toughest guys I know don't have any. So it doesn't make you a badass, but its still a badass tattoo!

One of the really cool things about getting older

Is your complete lack of care as to what other's opinion of you is.
I have no tatoo but had been thinking of getting
a sn tatoo, I had no idea that guys in the service were doing that
I just thought it would look cool.

I did not draw repeat did not draw this so I can't take credit for it but I think it is a pretty cool looking tattoo. The second one is the one I have on my calf...

I'm an older guy who knows even older guys with tats.

When your skin loses it's elasticity your "badges" fade.

They're going to look like unsightly blobs.

These girls who get a tat of the sun on their belly? Well, after they've squeezed out a couple of brats and they've got the middle aged spread it looks like a rotten tomato in the summer sun.

Save your money and your dignity.

Im 30 yrs old, 3 kids, 3 tattoos. Two of these tattoos are half sleeves on my upper arms that are easily hidden by a dark shirt. Im not a bad ass. Im not a criminal. Im a dad. The ink I have represents certain hard times in my life, things that I survived and never want to forget. Im planning on more work in the future. Im thinking of portraits of my kids on my chest, which will hurt like hell, but they represent the only happiness I have left.

Tattoos are not for everyone. Your body IS a temple, decorate it as you wish.

Hey Josh,
shouldn't that be "Si vis pacem, para bellum"?

I read about some kid who wanted a chinese saying on his arm. So he went to a chinese tattooist. He thought it was really cool cause it said something really macho.

But then he saw some chinese girls laughing at him and he asked why.
They told him his tattoo said, "At the end of the day, I'm just an ugly boy."

He went back to the tattoo shop, but the guy was out of business.

I was in the same boat; wanting a "Molon Labe" tattoo. After a few days of deep thought on the matter I remebered that the Greeks are the forefathers of homosexuality. So I could tattoo a man in a pink toga clutching a spear or do without. I am now searching for something more "Americanized".

Josh... It might be worth seeing if some selective laser tat removal of elected letters can be done and repair the spelling.

This seems like a really minor repair job in the making as this is simply a spelling error and the format lends itself to ease of correction. Luck to you.

A Finnish semi-celebrity chick had a tattoo made that read:
"There were is mill there is a road", when she was shooting for "Where there is a will there is a way".

Here's the pic:

In the info box on the picture, she explains proudly that she designed the tattoo all by herself.

as you can see from this picture.... Ms Martina Ihavenoideawhatherlastnameis had to correct her translation in the worst way possible.

Propably ruined her modeling career.
