M&P Smith and Wesson Lower Parts Kit is a Bad AR 15 Product

Just for the record, the parts kit in question is the customize-able kit. It contains no trigger group. It contains no trigger guard. It contains no pistol grip or hardware to attach one.

If I were to venture a lazy guess - the kit I bought is the recalled kit, repackaged without the bad trigger group.

I suppose, in my view, some bad parts will work even if they speed up wear and tear due to bad fitment. And some bad things will not work or will fail in the short term. The revelation that S&W recalled bad M&P lower parts kits for want of a safe trigger seems to fit neatly into my experience with their M&P lower parts kit generally. It seems a stretch to believe that S&W would field a first class lower kit with a defective trigger group. More likely, they sought maximum margin with minimum workable quality and they took a hair too much for themselves in the arrangement.

These things happen all the time. It's just a drag when the iconic American companies do it.

You are correct and I was wrong about who recalled the low quality parts S&W had contracted to sell.

You need to take a really good look at the parts on your AR. Just about every one uses MIM parts now days, even Colt. Just try and find a Bolt catch that is not MIM.
I know shooters that would pay more for the Seekins Precision enhanced bolt catch because they wanted one that was milled.

I have put 2 lowers to gather from Anderson and both work very good!! I did use Velocity triggers in both of them one 3lb in one and 31/2 lb in one both curved triggers They come in curved and straight and MRC witch is a wider trigger. I will try the MRC the next time

You do know that S&W doesn't make any of their AR barts, just like most of the other companies that build ARs.
If you have any more trouble with your lower parts, let me know. I have many extra parts in my box. Will send for free.
Beat me to it
