Magpul DAKA grid organizer

Who here has used the DAKA grid organizer ? I see they are making kits for my Pelican V800 which seems like a great option to new foam, and offers a lot of flexibility for different rifles in the same case. Looks like they are even making their own cases with the system. Looking for opinions, good or bad experiences.

I was thinking about seeing if it would work in one of those Apache cases from Harbor Freight.

I just had a birthday and mentioned the organizer grids for my Pelican V800 to my wife. What do you know it showed up as a birthday present. I swapped the grid with the bottm foam in my case per the instructions. I think it is going to work for using the case fore multiple firewarms vs cutting the foam and having different foam sets for each firearm. I tested a few configs one night a week or so ago and it seems really solid. I have not transported anything but I like the idea.

I was looking for real world experiance for this system from someone here a while back and there was not respone. I figured I would followup with my experiance in case someone is interested or sitting on the fence.

There are reports on internet reviews of the case closing hard after install, I did not eperiance that at all. I following the supplied instructions and fit/install was perfect. Magpul has systems for a few different cases now as well as a couple casses of their own. I'd probably opt for a Magpul case with Daka installed vs retro fitting something due to cost, but if you already have a case and would like to use it for many different firearms this might be an option vs buying multiple foam inserts and cutting to fit for every firearm.

That looks like a great idea! I was gifted one of the big Pelicans, not sure if its a V800 tho. The darn thing is so big I hardly ever use it. If I did I'd definitely check into that.

I ordered mine by measuring inside diameter of my Pelican case and discovered mine is a 1750 protector.Dimensions for DAKA are on Magpul site.No where on my Pelican case is there a model number so I did the leg work.Bought expansion pack of blocks from ebay.

BTW, Dakka is also Orcish for "ammo."
I think someone at Magpul is a 40K geek.

Its great ,got tired of searching through my precut foam.Primary arms seems to be the only ones have in stock.My Pelican is over 20 years old and no visible model nunber.The 1705 which I have seems to be the largest release so far.

Their DAKA cases are pretty slick.And comes with the daka foam system.Starting at $300 msrp and can be had for less at retailers.May buy a smaller one than my 1750 for ar's and lotsa pistols for range day.

My 1750 pelican with DAKA.Great system.As you can see two rifles will easily fit.I over did it with blocks ,raining hard here having some fun.

I've had DAKA in my Pelican V700 for a few weeks. I bought the V730 kit and trimmed it to fit. Never going back to traditional foam. I have one center piece left over and plan to use it plus two more to finish out a Boyt single case. Between these two cases I can transport all my rifles. No problem closing the V700.

Glad ya like it. Bought one(V800) for a grandson's birthday later this month. Amazon had em on sale last month.
