Took it out to shoot it today.. Put 2 rounds downrange. then it broke...

I am losing my patience. Cleaned the bore, fired one round. round did not eject, I guess i need to add a bit more effort to the ejector portion of the stroke. So, I cleaned the bore again. Fired a second round. Had stiff ejection again. Gave it a second stroke, closed the action. On closing, action felt stiff on cycling.
Now, it will not cock and stay cocked. upon examination, the sear engagement area on the hammer looks to be jagged, as well as the actual sear itself.

2 rounds... is it back to Winchester again?

I ordered Texas Mac's book.

Im gonna sit back and enjoy an adult beverage...

I called and talked to Lee Shaver this morning. He tells me that the sear spring is suspect in this case. Gave me instructions on how to test it. I will give it a shot tonight and see if I can determine if its a broken spring. I might have to order a couple springs.

called Winchester, they are sending me a new spring... for free.

Didn’t you get the picture when everyone here said Mirokus are God’s gift to the gun world? Sorry, but your gun is flawless. Must be operator error.

Seriously, I too am frustrated and feel your pain. It has been 7 months and my brand new Miroku made Browning SA22 is still in for repairs.

After this, I will never own another new Browning firearm again, at least not one “Made in Japan”. I am hearing of others reporting QC issues from the new post-Covid Miroku. Our incidents are not isolated.

i own browning 8 shotguns, semi auto, o/u, double barrel, single shot and 9 rifles lever action, bolt action, single shot. the most fired is a BT-100 with over 45,000 round thru it(factory-reloads) with out any repairs, only cleaning. my clays games friends and i shoot go thru tens of thousands of rounds trying to break tho,s evil clay birds a year and the only thing i ever saw break was a fireing pin. i think your problems will be fixed and i hope soon, do you have a browning authorixed repair gun smith close? we have one about 50 miles from here and i stop their several times a year to look at new browning.

I hope this is isolated.. but after talking to Lee Shaver this morning, I understand that the spring is a known weak point. I can swap out the spring myself. finding a gunsmith around here isnt easy... and while I am NOT a gunsmith, I think (read [hope] ) I can install a spring without screwing it up. The book is on its way, as is the spring. I have read that to disassemble one of these Miroku 1885s, you should empty your freezer, take a flashlight, lock yourself in it, and begin disassembly. I think I will put the rifle in a vacuum seal bag before I disassemble it.. that way I can still breathe.

I ordered some ADG brass this morning for this rifle... This rifle needs to shoot!

Contacted Browning after 9 months and no word on the SA22.

They’re sending a new one out. It’s about time. I asked them to throughly look it over before bothering to ship it to my local gun store. They said they would.
