I can see a whole bunch of shotgunners carrying this gun. I think it will be a success (if it is reliable). Maybe not of the magnitude of the P365, but a success never the less. There are a bunch of Mossberg fans out there. And a lot of shotgunners that like or are used to a cross bolt safety. The safety makes it unique. Without the safety it’s just another poly striker 9.
The fact that it is another striker fired gun is irrelevant. Yes there are many,
but most have their unique characteristics. There are many 4 or 6 cylinder cars out there, but so what. Does not mean they are all the same. I do not see why Popularity of Sales means squat. If it is not as Popular as the 365 means absolutely nothing. The cross bolt safety is not the game changer, but maybe just a great idea and on a pistol may not be the same as a shotgun in use or handling. Many folks are Mossberg fans and many folks like a gun that is very dependable. And so far it is running strong on dependability. I can never understand why in the firearm world, guns are based on popularity. I have seen some that I would not ever think of buying again, just because it is popular. There is a huge difference in buyer's of firearms vs shooters. And all the shooters that I know, want a gun that they feel has the best features, feel, grip, trigger, sights that fits their particular desires.
One thing that does interest me is the way the Pistol takes down and how easy it would be to keep the Striker channel clean or replaced. What a great idea. I have some firearms that I have cleaned and some easy, but some difficult and of course that lost spring.
I am also interested in the Magazines. Will these polymer mags hold up well? Are they lighter to carry? I like the fact that you can see how many rounds. Not a big deal, but just something unique.
So far I am liking what I see. But that is just the Menu. I want to taste the product. Maybe a fantastic firearm, maybe not. But just like I am betting the Glock 43x and the Sig 365 will be very successful, I am also betting this gun might be as well. (And successful does NOT mean most popular)
And even though I am not a Glock fan, Glock builds great guns. If Mossberg borrows ideas or parts from Glock, Beretta, Sig, etc, then Bravo to them!
