The older I get the more pockets I find I need. I was able to get by with carpenter pants and it's additional pocket. Now I'm looking for 2-3 more pockets. However, I want them to look like regular jeans or khakis and not operator's pants because I don't need kneepad pockets or AR-15 mag pockets. I'd rather blend in while carrying. Cargo pants are rather baggy and I don't prefer the billowy side cargo pockets. Any ideas for pants and shorts that aren't tactical?

I just wear jeans that have traditional pockets and a watch/coin pocket. I do not crowd pockets because stuffed pockets are harder to retrieve things from. I am also a minigmalist — less is more — provided thst the less get’s things done. My pockets contain bandana, wallet, keys, phone, money in a clip, then there is my belt. Attached to it are my folding knife, flashlight, extra magazine, and holstered gun. It works for me.

I own multiple pairs of Tru-Spec 24-7. Hidden elastic waist, plenty of pockets, breathable in good weather, wind and water resistant in bad. Sorry, but you can only get so many pockets above the knees...

Carhartt makes at least a half a dozen style of pants with extra pockets. There has to be a pair that would suit you. Same with Deluth and Dickies. I like carhartts, been wearing them a long time and they make good work pants and don't look like operator combat trousers.

They look more like work pants or just plain active hiking/outdoorsman type pants.

There are several options now for pants that have some stretch to them. You get a fairly trim fit, but since they stretch when you move I can be pretty active without having the pants bind as I move.

Sams Club sells these Levi's for $30 in their stores.

Wrangler too

I volunteer with a SAR team and we wear 5.11's as part of my uniform. Not cheap, but I wear these in khaki as part of my uniform, but liked them well enough to buy a green pair for hunting. These are rather trim fitting, with a stretch material and thigh pockets that don't get in the way.

Another option is to go with the outdoors hiker pants. You can still have cargo pockets, but you look like a hiker instead of an operator.

Take a look at Wrangler cargo pants. I know Levi Straus is openly not pro 2A, I don't know what Wrangler's stance is but I know I don't buy anything from Levi Straus anymore.
I've been buying Wrangler carpenter pants and shorts at Walmart for a couple of years. Do you know if Walmart carries the Wrangler cargo pants too? The carpenter pants and shorts are fairly inexpensive there.:)

Somehow I manage to carry this assortment of goods daily in standard blue jeans.
Anything more than that gets carried in a
game vest or daypack or an old cabelas
safari vest they used to sell

Just my curiosity- what's the extra cargo
capacity needed for ?
There's some times I feel I carry tms
myself

I have 5.11 ones. There are about three levels I seemed to notice, with the top being more substantial, knee pads, look tactical etc. the medium ones I have that still can look like hiking/cargo pants. There were light ones that seemed just like light hiking pants.

I have some LA police gear pants that don’t look overly tactile and had plenty of pockets. They make several different styles, some more durable and tactical than others.

I like them because they are fairly thin and cool in the AL summers, I don’t wear them in the 3 months of cold weather we have.
I really like them, honestly wonder why they’re not more popular.

Being an older fellow and not in the business of regularly doing 'dirty' work, I tend to dress in trousers and more or less dress shirts, often a tie and usually a sports coat.

I carry my (small) wallet in my breast pocket (shirt). Keys - usually just for house and car - and a 'Boy Scout' style knife in my right front trouser pocket and a small flash light and measuring tape in the left. Sidearm and spare magazine (just one) are in belt mounted holster and holder. Money is typically not carried, I keep a debit card in my wallet. I have ceased to carry handcuffs or a fire extinguisher.

I am considering making (I do leather as a long time, seldom used hobby) small belt cases for the flashlight and knife. Similar to Batman's utility belt, but less obvious.

Not being a cloths horse and not needing to carry much of anything I wear Wrangler slim fit jeans. I also wore them in my working days and they will hold a fair amount of "stuff" if needed. I quit Levi's many years ago when they shut down their plant here throwing a lot of people out of work, moved overseas, and raised their prices. Their 2A stance reinforced my determination not to ever buy their product again.

Sounds like what you really need is some kind of messenger bag.

I gotcha.
We just discovered wrangler stretch pants.
Very comfortable and pretty good looking. I'm keeping a khaki pair for church.
Zippered Pockets on legs hold my large cellphone.
Best part....?
