with a clean barrel once the pure lead ball is in the barrel it goes down very easy with out pounding. i would not use this method if it wasnt easy to load.
This is my question as well.
I shoot a 295 grain Powerbelt hollow point and 80 grains of loose Pyrodex. That is in a CVA Optima Elite, which is a poor man's Encore.
I would recommend that load for anyone shooting an in line ML. I've killed deer up to 175 yards with that load.
Not so much if you use traditional equipment.
Try between 80 and 120gr of ffg or 777.
Bullet choice depends on your rifling. I like 110gr of 777 and a PRB. In my inline, I like 110 of 777 and a 300gr xtp. Or 120gr ffg and a 300 xtp.
The maxi ball also shoots well.
I hate pellets, they are harder to get consistent accuracy from.
