But..., but..., glocks have no soul...
You are a very naughty man bringing that up! Now the poor guy will just have to live with durability, reliability, value, capacity, light weight, simplicity, OEM and aftermarket parts ubiquity and modularity!
And come to think of it I just did my first 1911 detail strip (don't laugh - I'm a mechanical dunce and hey field stripping is rarely necessary in normal use or maintenance). Had every part of the RIA out, cleaned and back together in only about 450 times the amount it takes 1911Tuner - sad but actually true! - and you know what? Couldn't find a damn bit of soul anywhere. No loose pieces or parts missing in the gun - so not sure where that soul is supposed to go anyway.
No I'm not bashing the 1911 or turning this into a comparison. I have both and enjoy both - but in both cases for muchj more objective reasons than this "soul" that is almost guaranteed to be churned up within 10 posts of anyone saying anything nice about Glocks. Enjoy it man - shoot the hell out of it, spend five minutes cleaning it every so often, and repeat. It's what Glocks are for. The buggers just flat out work, and work well.
One of the best things you may find about Glocks is that if you buy or borrow another one, it will be the same. Weights vary (a bit). Grip widths vary (a bit less) and sight radii vary (a bit less too). Apart from that, other Glocks will feel, work, and strip exactly the same. There's something to be said for consistency.
