Below is what I sent the Govenor of WI, who is indicating possible/probable veto of the PPA, WI's version of licensed concealed carry. I know it's long and I've sent my short, sweet, and to the point letters earlier, I'm just keeping the pressure on.
-----------------

Gov. Doyle,

I apologize for the length of this, but this is something I and so many others feel so STRONGLY about, and I hope you read it and take it to heart.

I am having a hard time trying to understand why you don't trust me, a law-abiding, upstanding citizen of Wisconsin, to have a license to carry a concealed weapon for self defense. I have never ever been arrested. I have no felonies, no misdemeanors, not even a speeding ticket. I'm a recent college graduate who is getting started in life, and since I take pride in life and treasure it, I also wish to protect my life and those who I love. Concealed carry licensees are people just like me, no criminal record. We don't pose a threat to society. Felons can't get licenses. Criminals, by definition, don't obey the law. You are only hurting me, a law-abiding citizen by allowing concealed carry bans to continue. Licensees will have gone through firearm training and safety courses. How is more firearm safety training a bad thing???? That can only make us safer, and the PPA requires training to get a license. If carrying a gun by law-abiding citizens is so dangerous, why is open carry legal? What, just because a shirt is covering the gun makes the person more of a threat to others? Don't force me to open carry my weapon by vetoing this bill.

What possible harm does the PPA do? How am I a threat to society? You have to put faith into your people, Gov. Doyle, just as we have put faith into you as an elected official. I don't care if WI has had a ban for 130 years, I don't care if the crime here is lower than in other states. MURDER and ROBBERY still happens in Milwaukee, in Madison, and other cities. I don't think the criminals were thinking about that ole concealed carry ban when they commited their crimes. There is NO logic in you opposing the PPA. Don't give me the excuse that this law will allow guns into schools, malls, certain taverns,

restraunts, state parks, etc. What, those places are crime free right now? You mean robbery doesn't happen at malls or state parks right now? You were a DA weren't you? You prosecuted those scumbags out there and put many behind bars. Why do you make me defenseless against those people you used to put away? Why give them, the criminals, the advange Gov. Doyle? I'm a law-abiding citizens in those malls, taverns, schools, sporting events, hospitals, and churches too you know. I don't walk into a restraunt and suddenly become a threat. I've lived 24 good years of my life so far not threating others, and I also wish to protect myself against those who threaten me or my family.

I've waited billions of years for my life, and I want every opportunity to protect it. Police can't be there to stop most crimes, they are usually called while the crime is in progress or after it has happened. Let me take my life in my own hands. Let me defend myself. This is a God given right. This is a right the founders of the US Constitution recognized with the 2nd ammendment. This is what the WI constitutional ammendment on the right to bear arms recognized. Why can't you recognize it? 45 other states do. Minnesota recently did, as did Missouri. You did hear about the Govenor of Missouri having his veto overridden didn't you? What do you think is going to happen to his career? Don't force us to mount a veto override, it will only hurt you.

The crys of blood and threats to society never panned out in those other states that enacted concealed carry permits. Show me ONE instance where a police office was killed by a concealed carry permit holder. You can't because it hasn't happened. Those who oppose this bill only fear the unknown, what they don't understand. Sadly, many of them never see it the way I see it until a violent crime happens to them. It's too bad people don't treasure life like I do until it's too late. I pray to God that I never have to use a gun to defend myself. I've heard the odds of having to defend oneself with a gun are about as good of odds as me winning the lottery. But people win the lottery everyday Mr. Doyle. It happens to SOMEONE. If it ever happens to me, I just want a chance. Make it fair. Give me and other law-abiding citizens of Wisconsin what is 130 years overdue: a chance to properly defend ourselves should the lottery numbers ever match up. Support the PPA. Deny us this, and you can plan on the same fate the Democrats of 2002 faced when they opposed the PPA. Support the PPA and you'll have our votes for life. LIFE. What is it worth to you?
