Well I now have my Glock! I put the cart before the horse some 3 yrs back, bought the 6" KKM bbl. back then and not the Glock
For my own gift I put down the required 20% and wife picked up the rest of the tab and new now it was wrapped and under the tree. Knowing that it was finally or almost in hand I PROCEEDED to buy what I believed from studies the mods or parts necessary in getting the most out of my Glock.
One item was "How to Make Glocks Rock!" DVD and a Reference Guide for Glocks put out by PTOOMA Production. Ordered from GlockMeister, GhostInc. and Midway. Parts were the captured rod w/22# recoil spring GM,Backstrap Channel Insert, GhostInc. Rocket 3.5# Connector kit, Glock extended slide release tab. The shell holder from Wilson, 100rnds of Starline brass and 200 rnds of XTP's.
Had a time getting the Trigger Control Tab down to what was required for full operation of trigger function and disassembly of slide thereafter. Now that is done I went ahead and loaded up 5 rounds with Beartooth 200grn WFNGC and 9.3 grains of Hi-Skor 800X lit by Fed 155's today and fired the Glock. I limped wrist the first shot as the second round did not feed properly, thereafter the rest fed and shot superbly. Not like my wheelguns for sure.
Went back home and took the KKM barrel off to make some observations and noted that there is fouling-perhaps the lube off the bullet. Was able to retrieve from the snow bank 2 out of the 5 rounds of brass and noted slight impacts compared to the 2 alum. cases from the factory.
My further studies indicated that maybe the firing pin was hanging up, took it apart and clean it was. I am now wondering if the control tab on the Rocket Connector needs another .01mm honing? Or maybe the primers need to be set deeper, right at the time of seating primer I measured them to be .001" deep. Figured with the "soft" primers of the Federals should be adequate. Should I be concerned down the road with the light primer hits?
This trigger is smooth and accuracies thus far off-hand is superb! As soon as my XTP's get in I will load for them and setup my chrono. I suspect to shoot them in the stock bbl. until LW comes out with the LS for the Glock 20 then I will shoot with the 6"KKM.
Any suggestions?
