That is a huge pile of AWESOME! Not where I would have taken it (those grips are the hid), but way cool. Keep up the good work (an accuracy report will be required).

I can tell by this project and your location that you are fun to be around!

Thanks for sharing the awesome. I can't wait to see it finished.

Stay the course. I like stupid cheap projects. Someone's little girl may really enjoy that some day.

While the paint scheme may not be my personal preference, to each their own. I do like seeing a pile of parts turned into a functional piece though.

You KNOW that there's a special room in Hell for people that put HK stickers on classic guns, right? A very SPECIAL room.......

With multiple coats of color and top coat like this don't be shy about leaving it a long time. Or after a week bake all the parts in your toaster oven set down to as cool as it'll go. You want it well under the boiling point of water. Or makes an "oven" out of a cardboard box with table lamp inside that has a halogen bulb or that still uses a 60 watt incandescent bulb as a heat source. Keep the bulb/heat source down low and in one corner but obviously away from the cardboard. Hang the parts up near the top so they are well warmed but certainly not too hot to hold onto. Bake the week old "dry" finish over night to force the last of the solvents out of the films and harden the surfaces up. Once the pieces cool back down the finish should be as scratch resistant as it can get.
