My Review of the lee loadmaster

Yeah I prime on it. Once you get use to it you can feel it with pistol rounds.
Same here....my biggest issues is brass with crimped primer pockets finding their way in to my 9mm brass. Beyond that its smooth.

I cull any misprimed cases and check them when I'm done. I've found almost all of them are Win and the rest are some import brand I'm not familiar with.

I prime with it but there is no way I could feel the primer seating. Sizing/depriming the, belling while charging, seating the bullet and crimping in all the other stations takes a lot more force than seating a primer.

I can feel it on all my other presses except for my 1050's but they all seat a primer at the opposite end of the stroke than the LM and 1050.

For pistol cartridges I prime on press.
For .223 I hand prime.
Once setup properly, the priming system work pretty good.
My first LM I bought back in the early 90's was a pain to setup the priming. Upgraded the old priming system and it was fine.
I bought a second LM fairly recently and it has been flawless. I did have my first priming issue Sunday while loading some 9mm.
I loaded a flipped primer. But I think it was my fault.
If you remove the priming tray while there are still primers in the top of the trough, you can flip the top primer.
I think I did that because I caught myself doing it 2 other times that day.
I was doing a marathon loading session for 2016 3gun matches.
All in all, 1 priming issue in about 15k loaded in the last year isn't too bad.

The carrier on mine broke just like Big bores last month . It has to be around 8 years old . Thought what the heck take a picture send it to Lee and see what happens .
They sent me one , no charge and no shipping .

yep. i got it changed and running again. pretty easy to change.

you know it would be stronger if it was steel instead of aluminum but it has seen its fair share of crimped primer pockets and a few small primer 45 acp have found there way in there too.

i got the part in 3 days for free, so cant complain to much.

I am tempted to by one of these to try but for $100 more I could get a Lock and load AP.

you could maybe, but your not gonna change calibers for the same amount of money.

i have used a LNL and i really do not like how you change dies, an IMO is not any better built than a loadmaster.

I forgot to mention earlier.....
I use a sizing die with the decapper removed in my priming station.
It centers the case for perfect priming everytime.
I do this for 9mm.
If any of you are having problems, give it a shot.

That and removing brass with crimped primer pockets increased my success to 1 in 1000 misprimes on average.

Some presses are known to squeeze a primer right into a crimped pocket but forget it on a Load Master. Even if you succeed on that brass once it will trouble you 9 times out of 10. I cull and move on. Then check anytime i get back from the range for sneaky crimped brass.

On another note some forget to keep the tensioner tight or readjust to hold the shell in place. That can allow the case to misalign during priming and the main reason the sizer die helps so much.

Yep.
I usually sort brass in fairly large batches.
I cull out certain headstamps and keep the rest.
Recently sorted through 6000 9mm. That was tedious.
Sort out any stepped cases and crimps.
I tighten the tensioner every hundred pieces or so and check the turret knob at the same time.
Grease the indexer every 2k and keep the shell plate fairly clean.

Reading a lot of complaints on the Pro 1000 and for some reason I have the urge to get one of those.

Go for it mines a piece a crap that has loaded thousands..................but it isn't for sale and after reading this I just might be popping for a LM :)

Get the LNL, if you decide you don't like it, I'll give you a loadmaster and $100 for it. You can even keep the 500 bullets.
