Don't Paras use some proprietary non-standard parts?

That might be something to consider, especially if you're going to be doing high volume shooting or if you want to upgrade or customize the gun later.

I am a Springfield guy but their pricing is getting ridiculous. The Milspec is a great platform though.

Not the GI. The PXT models use a proprietary extractor and have a ramped barrel. The GI uses standard 1911 pieces

I have the Kimber Ultra Carry II for concealed carry and the Kimber Pro Carry II for duty carry. Both shoot well and function reliably.

I had GI RIA and stupidly sold it. Its trigger was as smooth as the Kimbers and it never missed a beat. And it cost far less.
