What would be more productive is if you'd answer my question which I have now posted twice.

...or you can ignore it again and we can justifiably take it that you're just bantering along without the benefit of experience on the subject which you are posting so authoritatively on

I am not required to answer your leading questions. You have not answered several of mine in previous thread. You just ended up getting the thread closed.
At no time did I state any authority on the subject,? you just wanted to express yours and make more out if it then is really there.

Have a good evening.

So ..... getting back to OP.

Who here has pre-ordered the Pro 4000?

And what calibers do you plan to reload with it?

I have and I am looking at 380Auto, 9mm, 40S&W, 45ACP, .223 and .300 BLK.

I will continue to load .308 on C-H single stage.

I just pre ordered today. I plan to do 9mm, 38 special, 357 mag, 357 max, 45 acp, 44 mag, 223, 25-06, 270, 308, 30-06, 7.7 arisaka, 7.62x39, 300 blackout, and eventually 45 colt. I think I can also adapt a 44 mag shellholder to do 444 marlin. I will also investigate if I can get a 45-70 in there.

If not I will save 45/70, fn5.7, and 30 Herrett for the turret, and 6.5x284 I will keep doing on the single stage.

I sure hope you guys like the press, and it works as advertised. I can see one in my future if it's not more frustration than what its worth, even if I just load 9mm on it.

Lee has uploaded their advertisement and full press instructions to their website now. Looks like I can use just about all of my classic turret accessories.

Looks like it’s designed to eject the cases off the table into an optional bin.

From the literature “The Auto Breech Lock Pro will automatically index with cartridges up to 2.30” (58mm) long. Removing the index rod and manual indexing allows loading most longer action rifle cartridges like the 30/06. Not having the auto index makes the press just as e cient as the popular and expensive Dillon 550”

If it doesn't feed primers automatic then I wouldn't want one. Better off waiting for the new 4 hole pro 1000
Is there a 4 hole Pro 1000 in the works? That's my only real complaint about my Pro 1000. I prefer a separate crimp step.

And I agree about the lack of a automatic primer feed. To me not having an auto primer feed seems backwards. It's much easier to feed brass or bullets by hand so why they would configure this press to automate those two operations but not primers is a bit confusing to me.

I was looking to buy a second piece so I could mount the Safety Prime I have on this press and not have to readjust the one on my Turret press. No such luck:

They are not showing parts for their Safety Prime. This has me thinking that there is a reason. Perhaps they are working on an automated primer system. It does not seem likely. But if they did they would have a (4) hole Pro1000... LOL

I have considered getting an inexpensive press for 1 caliber that I have 1 load for and use relatively little compared to other loads I use. But that safety primer really bugs me, for that matter so does the case feeder but the primer more so. So for the reason, I think I will hold out for the Lee Pro 5000

It make sense as it is only a cover for the metal chassis and mounting points for the case retainers

How do you know this?

I went ahead and pre-ordered just a few minutes ago. I told myself I would wait, but...
I guess that SS is going to wait a couple more months.

Pretty much what you have listed. Ordered #4 and #19 shell holder for now. I'll get the #2 as I figure what all else to add as for accessories.

Revolver and bolt action will continue on the LCT for now.

Use pre-resized/primed cases and you can seat and crimp in separate steps. ;)

Using pre-resized cases will also decrease OAL variance from .003" to .001" - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...progressive-press.833604/page-2#post-10779806

Thanks, and I do appreciate that some use that method. However, in my own case I feel like that defeats the whole one-pull-one-round function of a "progressive". But one of the beauties of reloading is that we can all do it any darn way we please, as long as it's safe and the round goes bang!

Hopefully one will be in the showroom at Titan Reloading this week (I don't live to far from there). If so, I'll head over there and take a look at it in person.

343 speculative posts...... the anticipation never matches the actual event......

I heard that it works as a Kurig Machine when you are not reloading...

LOL! I'm cleaning my fancy coffee maker as we speak so it would be nice if it does.
I have never been one for coffee, but new job with a unpleasant boss and 2 new younguns in the home...3 weeks in I’m 2 pots a day. If it’s a coffee maker too I’m buying a dozen. I just hope it’s a standard carafe, these Kcup things are expensive.

The gen 2 pro 1000 is already released so I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for a 4 hole redesign. Sure would be nice if they made one to use the same 4 hole turret heads as the classic turret.

As others have mentioned, for the price, it might not be a bad option to keep one dedicated for a single caliber that I make a lot of, although I have become so dependent on the powder check die on my XL650, it is going to be tough to go to a 4-hole press again. I still check every load visually, but somehow having the powder check die gives peace of mind, especially when cranking out tons of rounds where it is easy to let your mind drift and get distracted.

I am thinking I will *have* to pick one up, it just is too cheap inexpensive not to.
