No panties in a bunch....
Yeah, I also get tired of "Fan Boys" or worse yet folks who haven't tried something or have any RL experience with it and go off on a tear about it. I have no experience with the BB .25 but I rather like the caliber in the Baby Brownings and The Colts Pistol in .25...shot a few of them and will have me another one someday.
I have shot perhaps 200 rounds of the BB .32 in penetration tests and evaluation testing out of my Colt 1903's and it is a really good round...Hot but not beating my pistols up and very accurate. I like the round just not the hype.
I'd recommend, with any of the premium/expensive SD rounds (be they .25, .32, 380, 9mm or whatever) that you buy enough to test shoot to ensure reliability and then practice with range/plinking ammo. Practice with the cheap stuff - carry the reliable good/high performance stuff. Luckily I hand load so I can load anything I want (any bullets I can get...) and make my own premium ammunition assembled for the particular firearm I intend to shoot it in.
For those dependent on factory ammo, reading reviews and talking to folks who have actually shot some of this stuff is the best alternative. The 'Net and Discussion forums are a tremendous source of information. Both accurate, mis, and dis information and it is difficult to wade thru the talking heads and get applicable facts especially in SD ammo.
Read a lot and ask questions is my free advice. I'd bet the BB .25 will be pretty good stuff but the only way to tell is buy 100 rounds and check it out in yer pistol.
