New Czech Offering

Looks very interesting to me, looks like it will be a really straight recoil into ones hand. I’ll have to follow this one as I love Czech offerings.

It is interesting. I like the low bore line and fixed barrel. The article says the gun is "gas operated like the Heckler & Koch P7" but I wonder if that is right. The P7 is gas delayed, not gas operated, but the layout of the new pistol would permit either system.

It's an automatic version of the Rhino more or less. If they can get the price to a reasonable number I might be interested.

At least by placing the gas piston/chamber above the bore, it may avoid cooking your trigger finger like the P7!

Maybe all that extra machining turns the slide into a more effective heat sink? Lol.:)

I like it, even more so thanks to it's lack of Tupperware bits. But I wouldn't expect to see it on sale for less than a grand, and in that price atmosphere, I'd probably look for an actual P7......

Point well taken as my P7 could get mighty warm after just 50 rounds!

The slide serrations seem a bit overdone; more like for visual impact rather than practical application. Kind of reminds me of the slide on the Beretta APX and not in a good way.

I also like that they went with metal construction over polymer and heartily agree that the price point for this gun is probably going to be in the stratosphere!

Well, of course it's like a concept car. They have to make it look like The Future (tm) or at least 'what is that thing?'.
Me, I'm from the old school of engineering. If extra weight isn't contributing to a function, get rid of it. If extra machining isn't contributing to a function, cut it down to the least machine time.
Right now, I can't provide a home for anything that isn't A) easily carried and/or B) cheap enough to be a range toy.
As it is, it looks like someone got a hold on the concept art for Half-Life 3.
But if this functions well, doesn't cook your fingers, and directs the recoil how it seems like it should, I could see it being a good race gun.

I don’t see anything impressively new. It’s a slide where the recoil spring is on top of the barrel. Whoopty do. That’s been done before with blowbacks. Gas op? Not for me on a pistol.

Sounds interesting - I wold like to fully disassemble that gun and take a look at the internals. That looks like a purposely built race gun, so it won't gather a lot of likes from fellow shooters. By the way, that Korean guy giving thumbs up? That is Hwansik Kim - he scores pretty high in the IPSC/USPSA matches. So, if he really likes it, I would take a hard look at that pistol before committing my judgement.

P.S. Laugo Arms Chechoslovakia?!? Someone will be quite pissed of from that company's name I believe...

That thing looks super cool! If they become available here I'll definitely pick one up if it's $1200 or under.

I do wish it was chambered in a more interesting cartridge.

Seeing as it has a fixed barrel, why not add a 16" barrel and a buttstock. That could make a very light and very accurate carbine.
