Last week I realized I needed a small handgun for certain rare occasions. Found a slightly used EC9S from the original owner w/2 seven rd mags for 150 bucks. It was just the size I was looking for and the price was right so I bought it. So far I have a little over 200 rds fired. The gun has been flawless and is quite accurate. Weighing in at about 18 ozs it is a little snappy but totally controllable. Trigger is long but smooth with a clean break. Even with my 69 yr old hands firing 100 rds at one sitting was no problem. It's not a range gun by any means but for it's size it's quite a comfortable shooter. The sights were dead on (thanks goodness because they are fixed and non removeable) at 10yrds which is the distance I practice at. Take down is easy enough. This is a very simple small handgun that is light , easy to conceal and I have no doubt it will be completely reliable. Very pleased. Now I have to find a OWB holster for it.

I've got an EC9s also but it's a problem child and will go back to Ruger one day. Doesn't mean anything about your gun but mine would choke on 147gr HSTs and ran better with 124gr HSTs. I love the grip texture and overall feel of the gun for being so small.

I bought a LC9S Pro a couple of years ago, no safety and dove tailed sights. Yes the trigger has some take up to it but it forces me to use the correct part of my trigger finger and as you say it’s smooth with a clean light break. I do love the trigger. I bought this holster off eBay for about $25 shipped. I like it a lot with the snap belt loop. s-l1600.jpg

Bullets hit the mag release on my mine making loading without depressing mag release a high effort affair. My hands are to large for me to shoot it really well so I haven't investigated if it's an easy fix or needs to return to mothership.

Reliability has been excellent with S&B 124 NATO, Federal 115 FMJ and Gold Dot 124 and 124 + P.

At the common $199.99 sale prices they are an excellent value even with only one mag.

Given what you saved by not having to buy a second mag I think you made a great deal.

Grab-A-Gun has Two Packs of OEM Mags for $33.99 if you need two more.

I like mine well enough:) it ultimately didn't check off all the boxes for me, but for the price it's a very solid little shooter. I keep mine as a uber back up in my truck. I coated it with a good layer of oil and keep it locked in a hidden cable lockbox way back under the seat of my truck. The idea is that if I am ever in a situation where I am not armed (not likely but it happens) and we have a breakdown on the side of the road or need to overnight in a dicey neighborhood or whatever, it's a comforting knowing I have a robust gun that has my back. Since it has a safety, I stuck a clip draw on mine so that I can put it IWB discretely if I needed to carry the gun.

I find for EDC, the Shield works a bit better for me, but the EC9S is a good gun. I'm not even going to say "for the price". It's solid. My biggest gripe is that my sweat eats Ruger's finish for breakfast. I have pretty much given up carrying my LCP II as well because I got tired of fighting the rust and just went with a BG380.

Anyway, enjoy your new gun. Amazing value:)

I have about given up on finding anything smaller than a .45 Shield that works for me (With the exception of the little LCP, which I'm at a loss to explain).

I can shoot a smaller gun, but I prefer the .45 Shield. It prints no worse than any other single stack. Anything smaller and I move down to a BG380.

Great little gun and a good size for carry. My one piece of advice is to put some bright orange paint on the front sight. It makes a world of difference in sight acquisition.

I bought some Pro-Mag 10 round magazines for my EC9S. So far they work flawlessly.

These were $16 bucks at grabagun. They have a two pack of OEM 7 round mags for $34.
