New turret press under development with 3/4/5/6 configuration turrets

I am interested in the bullet feeder. I have gotten too achy to load standing on the Dillon S1050. Seated, I can reach the handle but the bullet seating die is too much of a reach.
The MR Bullet feeder is $500+ and the Mini MR at $160 seems a bit fiddly to use.
The Lee is $60 at Midway and is getting good reviews.

I have already offered to sell the 1050 to a friend, if he does not take it, I will buy the Lee feeder.

Say, is there any particular indicator that the "Gatling" tube is empty and time to go to the next?
Indicator:
It's visual for me and the tube magazine will not rotate/index until the bullet stack is below it.
jmo,
.

You need the fifth hole for the inline bullet feed die. After you use the Lee inline die you'll wonder how you ever got along without one. After you have a few years on your bones you will find out it sucks balancing the tiny bullets on the case mouth. A lot easier holding a small hand full of bullets and occasionally dropping one or two into the bullet feed tube.
Then I would need a bullet feeder and feeder die, then have to load up the bullet feeder, The press is claustrophobic enough. Don't need one or want one
This would lead to a brass feeder and powder cop etc etc.. I will struggle along
:)

When a case with no bullet shows up at the bullet seating station, the Gatling tube (I like that) is empty. I keep a few loose bullets handy for when that happens and know it’s time to rotate the feeder tubes.

I'm thinking of buying one, but not to use with the feeder tube, but to allow dropping bullets from the top of the press!
I set the bullet on the station before the seater on the 6PP, but it would seem easier to have top access.

That is a major attraction of the Lee turrets for me.

I can have multiple turrets ready to be installed and yet not have a huge financial investment for calibers I don't often load.
I'm actually thinking of buying another set of 38/357 mag and 44 Special/44 Mag dies along with two new turrets so I don't have to even make adjustments changing from special to mags. :D

It is quite easy to use that way...depending on your bullet length, you should be able to have 4-5 bullets in the die

How tall is the Inline Feeder, die, bullet tube bundle and all?
It would have to clear the case feeder on my 1050.
Wouldn't it be easy just to cut the tubes to the length you need? Less capacity, but..............

I bought a second die set and turret so that I can switch between 38 and 357 without messing with the dies. I load coated cast and getting the powder through expansion die set like I want can take a little bit of time. I don't regret it.

I will send Calvin an email to see if there's any updates he can share
Here's his update on the "Ultimate Turret Press":

Hello John,

Sorry for the delay in response, I was out of the office last week.

The Ultimate Turret Press will feature the same base as used in the Six Pack Pro, with the same linkage from the Classic Cast line of presses. The press is topped with a tool carrier precisely mounted in a perimeter support steel ring. The new robust indexing mechanism borrows design from our Progressive line of presses. The press includes a positive tool carrier alignment pin. In order to achieve a tight precision fit, the tool carriers are no longer quick change. Instead, the tool carriers are machined to accept our Breech Lock Bushings. We also added a case ejector and discharge chute with catch bin. Finally, there is a full tool rack that will hold a 1/4" Allen wrench, small or large primer arm, and a primer feed trough.

We are offering 3,4,5, or 6 because while reloading with a turret press, no station should be left empty. This wastes a stroke of the press and, therefore, time.

Select the three-position carrier when loading brass of known quality and condition (cases fired in your gun). Use a Lee 3 die set and an automatic powder measure. Many millions of rounds have been successfully reloaded using three die sets. The three position carrier does not actually exist, you use the 6 position carrier with the three position “double index rod.”

The four position carrier is good if using range brass. For feeding dependability nothing beats “Factory Crimped ammo." If other brands of dies are being used, an extra station is required for powder charging; as only Lee dies include a powder through expanding die as standard equipment.

The five position carrier with Lee dies and an Inline Bullet feeder is the fastest most convenient way to reload factory like ammunition with the simplicity of a single station press. The addition of the inline bullet feeder allows uninterrupted operation as no pause is required to place a bullet.

The six station carrier is necessary when using other brands of dies that don’t include powder thru expanding dies or if there are additional accessories being used.

I do not have set release date yet. We were hoping to get the press available earlier this month, but a few challenges in the final stages came up. The time is coming soon, we have a few final packaging details to work out and it should be good to start shipping.

Great update and explanations of the different intended uses of the different tool carriers was very helpful.

I'm partial to the Breech Lock Bushing system...having started with the Hornady LNL...and welcome the addition of the alignment pin

Yes, addition of alignment pin will produce "absolute zero" of shell holder/case and dies like SPP, ABLP and Pro 1000.

I would be a lot more likely to purchase if the "new" turret press would fit the old 4 turret holders. Like many others here I have a number of die sets preset on 4-hole blanks; probably 5 preset on just a carrier and 5 more with the dies preset and an Auto-disk added and ready to go. Too much invested to scrap it and start over.

They have a short video of the new press on Instagram.

Nice. Thanks. 👍

Looks kind of unhandy to me compared to classic turret. I use my left hand to insert brass, bullet, etc and this press has a support where classic cast doesn't. Lots of questions I guess. Priming on the press is very slow for me.
