I am not hating on this thing.....I am also not taking it in a dark room to do some lovin on it like some here seem to be.
What does this bring to the table that other things do not bring to the table already....and more better....you want to hang all kinds of stuffs off of it.....any of your AR 22's will likely fit the bill....and likely you already own it.....or perhaps one of the rugers you already own will fit the bill.....or that old stock you have for that one 1022 build that is hiding behind your pinball machine (that is where mine is)....dig it out and bingo....all kinds of places to hang stuff.
I get need has zippo to do with it....being someone that just bought 4 new guns today (wife is going to kill me....this may be my last post....and no cheering) I totally get need has nothing to do with it.....but there has to be something that says to a guy that is sitting on 3 automatic 22's or the guy that is looking for his first 22 rifle.....that thing is going to have to say HAY....LOOK AT ME....AIN'T I ____________ cool, accurate, cheap, aftermarket support, like dear ole dad had.....something. I could see a "new" 1903....or to the other end something really off in left field....but this is pretty middle of the road....pretty safe....and really does not (to me) say.....HAY BUY ME INSTEAD OF ___________.
Personally I would take a 1022.....and you know how I feel about that platform....over this.
Some people can’t see the forest because the trees are in the way, and there are those that think they can see with their eyes wide shut.
What does it have in common with the 10/22 other then being a semiautomatic 22? It can use popular 10/22 mags that can be found just about anywhere, even in my gun safe.
What does it offer that the 10/22 doesn’t? Let’s see.
Easy take down for cleaning.
Barrel can be cleaned from the chamber.
Easy access mag release.
Front rail section for adding a light or bipod.
Last round hold open.
Better sights.
Intergraded picatinny rail. I had to pay $22 to put one on one of my 10/22s.
I have six 10/22s and like them very much, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t like something new that offers some features that I wish came on a 10/22.
I don’t think I have seen anyone posting about loving on the Wildcat, as you said. There have been some that have said that they would like to buy one, and others that have said that they like what they see.
And no one has said anything thing about hanging a bunch of stuff on one, other the someone talking about they could put a light on it for getting rid of pest.
There are those that will not buy something new that just hits the market. They would rather wait to see how it does first. There is nothing wrong with that, but there is also nothing wrong with wanting to get something new to see how it will do.
I’m thinking about picking one of these up and taking my grandson shooting. If he likes it, I’ll give it to him. I also plan to give him one of my 10/22s in the near future.
