New York hunters

I'm headed down to the Ithaca area probably from the 8th to the 11th of january. Does anybody know anybody there who may have a room I can stay in for a couple of nights?

What & where are you going hunting tomorrow?

I use to like the black powder hunting in Pennsylvania.
@stillquietvoice NY and Cornell university have a special partnership and offer a hunt in January. The deer population down there is large enough that it actually does a lot of damage to Cornell owned forests and ecological land. You can harvest 2 antlersless deer a day, no limit overall

I saw two doe at about first light but didn't have a clear shot through the.

That's the hunt extended season I thought yiy were talking about. I didn't have my license in time to register for it.. good to hear you saw some game hopefully you can connect next time out.

My phone said it was 5* here this morning. Spent 50.00 on 100 lb calcium chloride yo melt yhe ice from the freezing rain we got yhe day before. That's money that I won't be able to spend on parts for mauser project or the 50 c inline ml or reloading components. Oh well wouldn't be able to use them if I fall on the ice.

Once nice thing about the cold weather is the ice on the lakes will build up nice & thick for ice fishing.

I think Daniel's Ithaca deer season ended yesterday.
Looking forward to some harvested deer pictures.

You ever fish the Delaware River for spring time elks?
A friend use to fish for them down around Hancock about forty years ago.
I haven't in years, caught some over 5 feet. If I had a smoker set up I would fish more for them. There's usually a bunch of Asians and Russians so it can be a pain. I do shad fish in the spring, didn't make it out last year tho. I like trout and crappie fishing to, got 2+ pound crappie in the lake behind my house.
