Greetings EBRDude. My paternal roots run deep in Southern Hoosierland, so I know where you come from. Welcome to THR.

Welcome! Have you ever been to Whittaker's Gunshop in West Louisville, KY? Huge selection and a trip to look forward to. Is outside Owensboro just down the Ohio River from you. Grew up in Louisville myself. A little too big now for my tastes though. You're not far from the Knob Creek machine gun shoot get-together either. Enjoy!

Another local... glad to see it! Where do you shoot your EBR's?

I'm currently a member at Silver Creek Conservation Club. The only down side being no centerfire rifles. I don't have any so it's not a problem... yet!

I shoot in my backyard, or at KCR. I would like to find something closer to me, but I have no good ideas yet.
Yeah, Louisville has gotten a bit big for me as well. I enjoy living in a town that only has one stop sign, and I can shoot when I want.
Thanks for the welcomes.
I have a good friend that is a KY FFL, so if that is not against the rules, I would be glad to give his contact info privately.
Again, thanks for the welcomes and I hope I can contribute something to this group.

Welcome and glad to have another Hoosier on board. I'm orig from
Bloomington and still have some relatives out that way. Hope you enjoy
the forum, I sure do.

cheers, ab

Welcome aboard EBR. Another resident of the sunny side of Louisville here.

Which direction are you? There are ranges in Georgetown (private), Silver Creek has been mentioned, and there is another one out Hwy 111 from New Albany. I have heard there is one near Utica too but have never been able to find out any details.

If you prefer indoors, there will be a new indoor range opening in Louisville in a few weeks.

I live out 111 from New Albany. About 12 miles past the Caesars Boat.
The range on 111 is a private FOP range as far as I can tell.
Currently, I am trying to talk my Wife into getting me one of those DPMS AR10 .308 with a 24 fluted stainless barrel. Anyone have any good arguments I can use?

:)

Yep, FOP is private as is Silver Creek, but they host a public match once a month. You could go to that and get an intro maybe.

On the other hand, if you live out that far on 111 and own your property, why not build your own range in the yard?

A friend of mine built a pretty decent pistol range that can accomodate 4-8 people at a time depending on what you are shooting.
