This only applies to ALQ and for only then next 20-something days.
Stay off 40 and 25 and not got through ALQ solves the travel problems.
Now, am I remembering wrong, but doesn't NM have a Preemption Law? Which ought to mean a singe municipality can't do that? And, the notions, above, that a "Katrina" law barring emergency order of this sort may be past due.

I actually don't know but we do have an extended domain law which she can't override regardless of what "emergency order" she executes. That would be akin to her declaring martial law.
The head of the state police said he wouldn't enforce it. The head of the regular police said he didn't know what to do.
Said there's to many legal issues and didn't want the trouble this could bring.
This could bring a lawsuit if someone gets attacked and can't defend themselves. Typical Democrats, disarm the wrong people, for the children!

I think you are right in your assessment. It seems that More stupid laws get signed by lame ducks who don’t try to jump to another cake taxpayer funded job in Ca than anything else.

Dream on. You would have better chance of finding a hen's tooth than that happening. The state legislature is is controlled by liberal Democrats that dance in perfect harmony with her. This is a ploy for votes as she has her sights set on higher office once her governorship is finished. I have a good idea of who will run to fill her shoes and only hope enough people can see the light of what has happened to this state and hope it doesn't come to pass. The one I have in mind is every bit as bad as she is.

Wow, anti-logic by an anti. If the cops are disarmed how can anything be a "capital" offense? Oops, No points for Slytherine.
That, and the "success" of NZ is as over-stated as the "success" by Oz and such similar places.
Now, it can seem like an achievable thing, as NM has less than half the population of NZ, and 80% of the land area. But, NZ is only up to around 34-35% compliance, by their own measure.

Where did you hear that the head of NMSP won't enforce it? He is a lapdog to this sorry excuse of a Governor. I know that Chief Median of APD said that he won't, and that Sheriff Allen said that he is uncomfortable with it and doesn't want to put his deputies necks on the line, but NMSP is going to roll over for her and do her bidding. Fortunately, there aren't many of them, and they are already tied up providing security at the State Fair.

2) Successful completion of a range proficiency test,
3) Payment of a $100 fee, and
4) A clean criminal background
to qualify for a concealed carry permit.
Yep. Those who are willing to jump through all these hoops MUST be the ones who shot the little children in Albuquerque mentioned in the article.
Take away their guns and the mayhem will stop.
Only a politician or a journalist could make that connection. With a straight face.

Yes, we do and we can thank Dictator Bill Richardson for it. The first concealed carry law was written to allow cities to opt out which Albuquerque immediately stated they would do. As worthless as I considered him to be his one redeeming quality was that he was a staunch 2A supporter. He vetoed the bill and told them to send him one that eliminated that feature which they did the next year and he signed it into law.

She has defended her decision by saying that "No constitutional right, in my view, including my oath, is intended to be absolute". I wonder how many other government officials share her position.
I'm guessing 99.9% of them. At least with regard to their own ability to "do the right thing" as they define it.

Actually if that was the case we would already have every California gun law on our NM books........ Luckily even though it's a blue State it's still (for now) has a strong pro 2A history. The number of defeats our California aligned Regressives have suffered at the hands of NM voters has been a joy to behold.
