Wow this is quite the thread!
My step-dad didn't find a job, so we're still on track to likely move there in '08. I know, its way the hell off. Its the way the FAA works.
Anyone in Fredericksburg?

I'm not in Fredericksburg, but I shoot down there every now and then (more like every then these days) at the Northern Virginia Gun Club.

and yes, it is quite a thread. Glad I was the one who started it, but I do believe it was Kony who really got it moving ;)

Not in Fredericksburg, but I'm only 40 minutes from it. It seems like a nice area, far enough from DC to be more "Virginia-like", but close enough to work and play in NoVa/DC when you want to. It's also close to Richmond, which offers it's own benefits and market.

MTNBKR is right about that. I work with a guy who takes the train up every morning from Fredericksburg. Works like a charm for him. Gets to live in the real Virginia and work in DC. Of course, its (and that entire I 95 corridor are) getting a bit crowded down there - lots of new development going in and the price is rising quick, but still is good place.

Plus, there are all the co-eds at Mary Washington to check out. :D

I don't know, that film clip looked like the firearm was being used for aggressive purposes

I think we should take a closer look at that. We can't even tell if paper was being perforated. As far as we can tell from that clip all he was doing was making a lot of expensive noise.

While such noise can be annoying, and the media would have you associate that noise with aggressive behavior, creating the noise isn't in and of itself aggressive.

I don't want anybody to think that this is a case of sour grapes. Just because he out tacticaled me last week, and just because I might just as well bring a BB gun in the tactical stakes this week has NOTHING to do with it :neener:

A little humor for ya'll:

"If you shoot at mimes, should you use a silencer?" ~ Steven Wright (US comedian and actor

Slateman asked:
If you shoot at mimes, should you use a silencer?

You raise an interesting question. I think in order to have an accurate answer to this question, we would have to conduct some experiments.

If you shot them, and they wouldn't scream, would they "sign" vociferously? :scrutiny:

How does a mime call for help? :scrutiny: :scrutiny:

Just imagine shooting at the range with a mime. How would a mime call cease fire? What if a mime had a particular interest in one of the guns you were shooting. How would a mime express this to you?

WITHOUT getting shot...

We should invite a few mimes to go shooting with us, if for nothing else, the entertainment value ;)

Does this actually come under the heading of "gun related"? Shouldn't we interject some sort of technical or tactical component. Maybe the need/desirability of using a silencer when shooting a mime?
