NY red Flag Laws found unconstitutional (again)

I hate to say this, especially as I'm not in the same residential conundrum some here are in.

But leaving a state for another further strengthens the stranglehold that those in power within that state have.

But it's hard to argue with the simple reality that people have to look out for themselves and their families as well.
Well antigunners have been leaving NY, CA, DC, MD, etc to flip other states purple or blue. If the several millions of gun owners living in the aforementioned states moved to purple states like VA, AZ, PA, etc, then we'd be better off 2A wise. Right now their votes and voices are meaningless, and it's unrealistic to believe that they're ever going to have enough voting power in those deep blue states to make a difference. The more pro gun states and representatives in Congress who will in turn appoint progun Federal judges the better.

6,006,429 people voted for the more progun candidates in the 2020 election in California, but that's only 34% of the total votes that counts for nothing. Realistically might as well not vote in Presidential or Senate races because it a waste of their time. AZ was lost by approx 10k votes. New Mexico by 100k. Nevada by approx 30k, so on and so forth... I respectfully disagree with your assessment. Leaving antigun states for states were your vote and voice counts will eventually strip the antigun states of Electoral votes and give representation in Congress. The the other side have no problem with leaving the states they had a hand in ruining for a better life in states with less taxes and better quality of living, so why can't gun owners in CA and NYC?

Right now, local executive and legislative branches are more nimble (some would say devious) and just keep coming back with sidesteps or new means to the old end. Unless courts will expedite review, sanction those responsible, and make it clear what transgressions will be quickly and efficiently reversed, the games will continue.
If you want to put an end to it, throw them all out on their ear for failing to uphold their oath of office to uphold the constitution of the United States of America. Mic drop!!!

That's why j keep advocating for voting reforms. A 1 vote per county for president, governor and congressmen. The winner of the most counties wins the elections.

I wish it was easy, but then everyone would do it.
Some people, myself included, just can’t leave the state they live in. It’s not an option for me.
So I’m kinda stuck here.
So I make sure I vote, and make sure all my like minded people vote as well.
We almost made the change at Governor but not quite and are stuck for however long….
Voting doesn’t seem to make a difference like it once did.

It's an option. Unless someone is physically stopping you, it's an option. It just won't be easy, so you choose not to do it.

12 counties put her in office mostly downstate population centers. 66 other counties are not represented well at all. She's out of htouch with the needs and wants of the majority of the state.

NY passes far more unconstitutional laws than the courts can keep up with. Their "justifiable need" was struck down and they counter with turning over your social media to determine if you are the "right kind of person" to get a restricted carry permit. NY will just come up with another law rewording their red flag law or just ignore the courts. There are no repercussions for the legislators passing these laws, so they will continue.

There had to be some way to fix this. Does congress need to do it?

We've had a preemption law in Florida since the 80s, but cities and counties still passed their own gun laws. Our state lawmakers eventually passed a law with penalities for individuals who ignored the preemption statute. For example, you could sue the county or city commission members for passing their own firearms prohibitions.

I think it was eventually struck down, but it was effective enough long enough for all the cities and counties to find enough blue and brown tape to cover the word "FIREARMS" on all their signs.

District level courts are pretty much useless because they always get appealed to the Circuit Courts who then make rulings that get appealed to the Supreme Court.

It can feel that way because those government entities wanting to impose control can easily afford the costs of sending cases through the Federal system until they "get their way."

For other than "state-brought" cases, often, things get to District Court and are resolved right there. Ditto the Circuit Courts.

Technically, that's the reason for the tiers of Courts.
