I have to confess that I have been a 1911 and 45 acp skeptic. I held firm that the 9mm and plastic pistols ruled the day. I know all of the bullet points on why a 9mm is overall a better round and also why all of the wonder pistols are superior than the 1911 design I made the mistake of buying a Kimber Eclipse and started to eat a little crow. After a trip to the range with my new (used) springfield loaded and I now have to swallow my pride and admit itthe 1911 and 45 acp is the best pistol and roundI now know why all of you 1911 fans stick to the old browning design. For me it comes down to accuracy! I know it only holds 7 or 8 rounds, but daggone it I am soo much more accurate with the 1911, and the 45 recoil is more pleasant to me than the 9mm? go figure. I will not sell my S&W M&P 9mm , but lets just say it will be the only 9mm I keep. I dont know why I didnt figure it out sooner, but at least I figured it out
