2006 INTERNATIONAL PISTOL CHAMPIONSHIPS


DATES: Friday & Saturday, March 31 and April 1



PLACE: Converse Hall, 2121 Tuttle Park Place

The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH



EVENTS: Free Pistol, Standard Pistol, Air Pistol, Women’s Air Pistol,

Women’s Sport Pistol, Men’s Sport Pistol (MSP not part of any aggregate)



ENTRY FEE: $10.00 first event, $5.00 each additional event



AWARDS: State Championship Plaque each event champion,

· one medal for every 3 competitors in the aggregates

3 Gun Plaque (Air – Standard - Free) to Open State Champion

2 Gun Plaque (Air – Sport) Women Only – to Women’s State Champion

4:10 – 6:10 Free Pistol 8:10 – 10:10 Free Pistol

6:15 – 6:20 Prep period, Standard Pistol 10:30 – 10:35 Prep period, Standard Pistol

6:20 – 7:25 Standard Pistol 10:35 – 11:30 Standard Pistol, Relay 1

7:30 – 7:40 Prep period, Air Pistol 11:35 – 11:40 Prep period, Standard Pistol

7:40 – 9:25 Air Pistol and Women’s Air 11:40 – 12:30 Standard Pistol, Relay 2

12:40 – 12:45 Prep period, Sport Pistol

12:45 – 2:00 Sport Pistol

2:15 – 2:25 Prep period, Air Pistol

2:25 – 4:10 Air Pistol and Women’s Air



All NRA International pistol rules will apply.


All award winners must be members of NRA and ORPA (membership applications available at match). Juniors may shoot for awards if they, or a parent or legal guardian, is a member of ORPA or belong to a club that is a recognized ORPA club registered with the NRA (be sure to bring NRA club number).


Events can be shot in any combination Friday and Saturday. Registered shooters may re-enter any event for $2.00 target fee for practice only as range space permits.


NRA member, non-Ohio residents may enter and shoot for the ‘non-resident’ plaque, plus one medal for each three competitors.


BRIEF OUTLINE OF PISTOLS & EVENTS (THESE ARE NOT OFFICIAL RULES):

Standard Pistol – Any open sighted .22 with 5 shot (or more) capacity. Course of fire is four 5 shot strings at 2 ½ minutes per string, four 5 shot strings at 20 seconds per string, four 5 shot strings at 10 seconds per string. (B33 Target)



Free Pistol – Any action open sighted .22 that may be single loaded. Unlimited sighters may be taken prior to the first record shot after which none may be taken. 2 hours to complete 60 record shots and sighters. (B11 Target)



Air Pistol – Any .177 cal. Air pistol spring or gas powered. (See free pistol for sighter rule). Time limit 1 hour 45 minutes for 60 record shots. (B40 Target). Note: Women’s Air Pistol is fired one of two ways: 1) counting the first 40 shots of a 60 shot match, or 2) only shooting 40 record shots with time limit of 1 hour 15 minutes. (B40 Target)



Sport Pistol – Any open sighted .22 with 5 shot (or more) capacity. Course of fire is 6 strings of 5 shots at 5 minutes per string (B33 Target) and 6 strings of 5 shots rapid fire (7 second rest, 3 second shot window – repeat 5 times in each 5 shot string). (B39 Target)
