I'll have some photos up tonight from the On Target shoot. We had a good time, attendance was Anapex, GWAG, one little one that I saw, 1BadRam and myself.
Found out Anapex got a new 98! sweet dude! 1BadRam bought himself a new tack driver and I am in the process of getting a SPAS 12. I am certain other Maryland members have new toys also, plus it sounds like the fine folks at Hap are workign on the handgun range. This means a trip to Hap Baker needs to be set up.
Sorry I digressed, On Target was much fun. 1BadRam actually shot the retaining clip off the target holder. I actually heard a ding when it happened. I think it was the clip hitting something. It was definitly one of those "what was that?" moments. Basically it went something like: pop, pop, popding... mental monologue: huh? that didn't sound right, why is 1BR's target laying on the floor? why is the target pole swinging like that? He did not just shoot the target off? He must have hit the card board tab. Is he laughing over there? why yes he is...monologue off
So I put my weapon down and lean around the devider to his lane as he retrieves the target holder to put a new target on. One problem, the clip itself is gone. Now we are both laughing. I keep watch over our stuff as he exits the range and informs a clerk. They give him a new pole and inform him that if he breaks the wire it'll cost $100.00. Obviously this is not the first time it has happened. Just wish we had gotten a picture. We were both busy shooting at the time.
As for myself, I do indeed love shooting any .45 but I prefer my HK Tactical. (I shot 1BRs 1911 also). Out of 100 rounds with the tactical I missed 5 shots. I was doing a little playing around. Then I got out the new .38 S&W airweight. In retrospect I should have fired it first. I'll post target comparisons when I get home. I need much more practice with the .38. It is beyond my words.
One final note if we do a picnic on Memorial Day when do we do the next shoot at Hap Baker?
