It's a well known fact, that you should have a Lever to go with your SAA Revolver, or any revolver for that matter.
I grabbed this to keep my .44 Ruger properly paired up.

It is ready to screw my suppressor on and go play.

I hope to take it out the weekend of 3/16/24

My Henry’s don’t have that style lever loop. I’ve cycled a couple of rifles that were in the store racks that had them and found it pretty comfortable. Another mod I need to pick up in 2024.

About 15 years ago a co-worker who lived out on huntable property in Virginia bought a .44 Mag Henry, and was totally excited about teh acquisition. It quickly became his favorite varmint and general hunting tool on his land. Sweet looking acquisition! Congrats!

Congratulations on your rifle purchase. My brother has that rifle and loves it. I load pc bullets for him using unique. The Henry's are fine rifles and my grail gun now is the Henry Original Iron with case hardened receiver. I am a Winchester guy through and through but I love all the lever action rifles.

44 mag in a carbine is better than anything but a 30-30, but not by much. My 29 goes along with my 94 44. My Super Blackhawk (3 screw) goes with my Win 94 44. Pairs rock. Henry single shot 357 and my 6 1/2" Blackhawk 357. Always need a short and a long.

I shot CAS for years. I love lever guns. I sold a couple of my CAS lever guns. I still have one that I will never part with. A Winchester 94 Trails End .357.
A while back I decided I wanted a lever gun in a cartridge match to my S&W 25-15 .45 Colt.
I am pretty sure I want the Henry Big Boy X model in .45 Colt. I handled one at my LGS and I really liked it. Smooth handling and smooth action.
I am not completely certain so I am waiting to see what the new Marlin 1894 Dark Series models will be like. If they make an 1894 that looks like their 1895 SBL in stainless with a gray laminate stock I will be in a quandary. I can’t afford one of each. 😆

I must say that the ability to remove live cartridges out of the mag tube at the opening is a very BIG plus in the Henry’s favor.
S&W advertises that their 1854 (that action looks suspiciously like a Marlin 336 or a Henry) has a removable magazine for unloading but I haven’t seen this demonstrated.
Henry has been around long enough and their rifles are very reliable and I have yet to find an owner that doesn’t like their Henry, so Henry is at the top of my list right now.

Not into combos............but a 3 screw might go well with one of the .44 semi auto carbines

I have a couple of Henry's, .357 and .45 Colt. They've been utterly reliable and accurate . You should be fine with a Henry.

I’ve yet to find a lever gun in 7.62 nagant. That will just have to remain unpaired.
OP, nice gun, I do like a Henry.

They're a lot of fun to shoot, and I'd like one in 44 mag and one in 357 mag, but they're pretty useless out here for anything but a plinker that makes a big hole.

yeah...I want one... 😶

I've always liked a carbine & handgn in the same caliber...not really from any practical standpoint, but more as a range toy combination. I have them in .22lr, .32-20, 357, .41 Magnum and .44 Special, all Marlins except the .32- 20 which is a Winchester 92. Fun guns, all, that I spent considerable time at the loading bench finding compatible loads that worked with long gun or short.

And in each case, I have both a S&W and Ruger handgun to match. My sons and a few nephews/nieces, have been eye-balling the treasure trove for years, negotiating between themselves....and probably plotting my demise!. Best regards and long live two gun compatibility.

I hunt the timbered thickets of our KY farms, and 99% of the time, it's with a lever gun with it's same caliber backup handgun. My favorite...my Marlin 1894S in .41 Magnum...with the backup, a 3-screw old model Blackhawk. Here they are. Over gunned? Sure it is...but it's FUN.....Rod.

Synthetic on a lever gun doesn't do it for me. Wood all the way!

I do like the pistol/carbine concept though. I have a pair in .357 mag and . 327 Fed Mag. Am seriously considering a . 44 as well for just because.
