keltec vs hipoint.. hipoint for rugged construction and keltec for that folding feature. Only the keltec makes me feel it will break in a high wind

Ruger PC 9, Incredible fun. Uses P95 mags.

Also useful as a trigger finger exerciser. The trigger pull on mine as easily over 15lbs. I'd actually lent it to guys, they'd pull the trigger and ask if the safety was on cuz the trigger wasn't moving.

Sold the PC9 and bought the Uzi and have never looked back. BSW

Pistol caliber carbines are a blast to shoot. If plinking is you goal any of the above would work. I a urban or suburban area they shine. There is also a niche for those non-gun people who accept that they need a gun, but don't want to "mess with different calibers and magazines.

That said, if you are serious, why would you want a carbine that has the same foot print as a full, or intermediate caliber rifle? I have a marlin camp that has a extra trigger group modified to take Glock mags. Also a couple marlin 357 carbines. Since I've retired and moved to the country they have all been safe queens. Why grab one of those "real" rifles that are the same size and bulk, but a more powerful round.

Recently I bought a Kel-Tec Sub 2000 that takes G 19 mags. Why? Its foot print. Folded it is only 16" x 7". You can carry it in a brief case. Meaning you can carry it when you can't carry any other long arm.

If you just want a pistol carbine, get one that matches your handgun caliber and don't look back. If you want a practical carbine go Kel-Tec
