EERW, "
compensators and porting are not allowed in IDPA..it is meant for guns that one would carry for self-defense".
Then where does this fit in?

I'll admit, much of this looks like a ton of fun. Challenging even. I have never shot IDPA. I tried some IPSC some 17 or so years ago. Timing in my life wasn't right to stick with that discipline. And, I've never even read the rules for IDPA. Still, I have to go back to what EERW said, as has been my understanding of this sort of competitive shooting. OK, "
Here's what you carry. How good are you with it?"
I don't know a LEO that carries 6+1 full mags on his belt! Do you? Kydex holsters and angled mag pouches..? Most of us have a cylinder or mag full, and M A Y B E another under the seat of the car or stuffed in a belt for our carry pistol used for self-defense. Now, if one is expecting a fight, well, we've all got extra mags and stockpiles of ammunition. Right?
I'm gonna use one of my wife's lines.. "I don't get it."
Falling plates, Bowling pins, Bullseye, Duello, Silloete, Cowboy Action, even Benchrest shooting... Now those I understand. Fun is fun, but not under the fake rules of "
shooting guns that one would carry for self-defense". But he that carries some 70-100+ rounds of ammo needs to learn how to hit the target with the first shot. Or, the stages fired need to have some rules about how many rounds are expelled. (maybe these rules exist, I'm sure someone will tell me...)
I know, I've hyjacked this thread, That really wasn't my intent, but it looked like it was meandering anyway. I'm stir'n the pot. (so I might learn somethin)
