People like to make zombie threads but personally I worry more about the insidious infiltration of our country by that subtle menace…the Garden Gnome!

With that thought in mind we have a brand new target courtesy of "Targetz.com".
"That Gnome was just asking for it" http://www.targetz.com/targetz-lib/20039.pdf

This one is a simple "stand and deliver" rapid fire challenge.

1) Download, print, and Post the target at around 15ft.
2) A garden gnome's main weakness is his HAT but they move fast so you have to be quick too. Take aim and empty your gun into the gnome's HAT in 6 seconds (or less if you can do it SAFELY).
3) We're gonna go with the standard 10 rounds for this (I know, revolver guys face a challenge but I'm saying "trigger time" you can take as much reloading time as ya need).

As always, when you post don't forget to give us some details on your shooting (gun used, stance used, etc).

Super EXTRA BONUS POINTS:

I’ll give 9,000 super extra bonus points a successful target (all hat, no gnome) shot one-handed.

Have fun, Be SAFE!

Can't shoot at anything that might not be politically correct. The short folks might take umbrage to that target at our public range.

Sorry about that.

Need to go back to bullseyes....

@#%$ing garden gnomes. Evil, evil, evil creatures. Might be a few days, but I'll have to try this one. To keep it fair what's the round requirement? It's not fair for the 7-shot 1911's to be compared to a 15rnd M&P. More shots=more hits or misses.

OK, two wheelguns (gnomes fear the wheelguns the most) S&W 629 Classic 6" and S&W Model 19-4 4".

First the .44 mag, done really fast, single action. Damn that flyer!

Then .38 special, double action (such a nice action on this gun). To be fair, I had one FTF, so I had to go back to the truck to fire the last round. Probably the flyer! There's always a flyer!!

He he he, you showed that Gnome "what fer' " <grin>.

I couldn't follow my own instructions, started hammering the gnome with my Ruger 22/45 ML III and just had to keep going through three 10rd magazines <grin>.

I'll do it again later with another pistol and see how I do.

My first try - Witness Elite Match in .40
15 rounds, but I think I went over the 6 seconds.
Aimed center of mass.

Disciplined shooter vs undisciplined shooter, me.. lol

...

This is the difference of an undisciplined shooter, myself, with over 300 rounds on my EMP 9mm vs rl1911, Rick, a disciplined shooter, who had zero time with my new gun and he is a "southpaw" which, for our first rounds, we shot at aprox: 18ft.

I shot at 35ft for most of the good head shots but did put it out, finally, for both COM and Head shots at 63ft that kinda show.. lol

Whereas, Rick put his target out to the max at my range, 63ft after his first shots of the gun at 18ft, thus the few to the right of COM shows his first-ever shots with the EMP, and the rest show his quick, accurate adjustments.

Rick's target is on the left; COM, first shots at 18ft, the head shots are all at *63ft from him.. *fairly rapid fire.

Mine is on the right, 18ft, then 35ft, and finally 63ft, fairly rapid fire.

Who's The_Man..? rl1911, aka Rick, is..

Blame it on my eyes.. lol

Quote: funny, all the times I've printed out the Gnome target it never looked like that :neener:
----------

I had no idea what a "Gnome target" was until right now.. :what:

Back to the drawing board for me.. :)

A Ruger MKII was used. All shots fired one handed "duelist" style, which I believe is the propper way to dispatch one of these lawn lurking hooligans. Trigger time was a bit longer than 6 seconds as I was using .22CBs which require hand cycling the action.

I was shooting in my back yard range so .22 gallery loads are the rule. The crack of a standard long rifle panics my dog and leaves me shampooing the carpet.

Well, don't you guys laugh too hard, here's my .45 P220. Shot two handed weaver at 100 feet.

Here's my second try with my .22 Buckmark with a MatchDot.

I'm a new shooter (less than a year). I know, I know, there are some very big .22 holes in the target. Please excuse.

NRA indoor range, 21 feet, fired two handed/standing/unsupported. I forgot about the requested 10-round stipulation, used what I had left...

left = Colt Combat Commander, 9mm (8 rounds fired)
right = Colt Agent revolver, 38spcl (6 rounds fired)

I hate gnomes

all three are shot at 7 yards the first was my brand new pt38s tauri with 125 silvertips the second same gun with corbon 125s (I admit I slowed down with these) th third targer was my 44 tracker with reloads (240 rainier HP @1000 fps)
