Is there anyone with experience with Prvi Partizan 7x57 brass? If so what is your impression of it? It seems to be available at a reasonable price.

Remington appears to be the most readily available but from what I hear isn't very consistent.

Foregin brass

I've been reloading for better than 40 years. One lesson I've learned the hard way is that it is better to avoid brass of foregin manufacture unless I am sure that the brass has been manufactured to exacting standards. By way of example, I would not even blink when it comes to reloading Norma or Lapua brass. Top quality components and they get a long buck for their stuff. Then there's the other stuff from Russia, South America, Korea, China, Africa etc. Do youself a favor: Sell it by the pound for scrap. Some of this stuff is so brittle that it will not reliably seal the chamber with a corresponding loss of accuracy. I recently got the supprise of my life with Hornady brass. Ran a round of .30-06 into the first sizing die I ever owned and tore the rim off leaving the brass in the die body. Couldn't get the brass out of my die with my stick case remover either. It was just too brittle. My guess is that my pals at Hornady contracted with PMC to manufacture their ammunition. PMC stands for "POORLY MADE CARTRIDGES" IMO. I'll bet my hat that the Hornady brass was PMC. Lost a die that I've had and used since I was 17 years old. I trusted Hornady. After all they are a relaoding company right? Called the Hornady customer service people...they could have cared less. Told me to anneal the brass. Oh yea, I annealed the brass alright...annealed it right into the garbage can!!! Do yourself a favor, unless the brass is manufactured by a company recognized as top quality, just stick with US made brass from either Remington, Winchester or Federal.

Well actually, this stuff is pretty good..

I have a 7x57 Ackley and was looking for Winchester brass, of coarse it's tough to find, so I tried some of this Privi brass.

Ok, so they didn't polish out the annealing.. I can live with that.. but what I noticed as I was priming the brass, is the primer pockets were VERY uniform. Every seat felt exactly the same.. Not too loose or too tight, just right.
Hate say it, but the primer pockets were more uniform than much of the latest batches of Winchester brass in other calibers that I've been seeing.

The fire-forming went very well.. no failures at all.

After fire-forming, I checked the internal capacity, comparing the Privi brass against Rem and Win fire-formed brass, I discovered that the Privi brass has virtually the same capacity as Winchester brass.

Then I loaded up some test rounds and went to the range. Shot some nice groups and the brass is holding up fine.

Now I only bought 50 pieces of this brass, so others may have a different experience than mine, but so far I can't complain about this stuff.. Its pretty good.

RDub;

Thank you for the experienced opinion. I worded my post the way I did because I wanted opinions from people such as yourself who have used this particular animal.

I will have to obtain some and give them a try in my new Ruger RSI once I get it out of layaway.
