I haven’t been spending as much money on gun related stuff in the past two years, but that’s because I already have so much and my new woodturning hobby has been keeping me occupied.
But back on January 10th, I had surgery to repair a hernia and then emergency surgery to fix a problem that came up.
While recovering at home and on some good pain medication, I couldn’t help myself when I saw a PSA add. Yes, I pulled the trigger on a PSA Dagger slide and some other things.
The slide arrived yesterday, and I have to say that I’m very pleased with it. Now I’m waiting on the two frames to arrive at my LGS.

I have the same slide that I shoot with my suppressor and it shoots great. About a 5” group at 50 yards from the bench, which is probably more limited by my ability to pull a glock trigger than the accuracy of the upper. Super happy with mine

I bought a Dagger for my Christmas present in 2021. I like it. I kind of got carried away & got the Sniper green Cerakote & night sights so I wound up paying $380 for a $300 dollar gun but it works & works well. If you are on F-book there is a PSA Dagger group. Lots of people building these things accessorizing them to be what they want.

The PSA Dagger slides are nice and allow people to get into pistol mounted optics for Gen 3 Glocks and clones at a very reasonable price. I'll take the Dagger slide over a lot of other low priced slides any day of the week.

Howdy Gunny! Good ya see you

I wanted to try a red dot on my Glock 19 but did not want to wait for it to get milled. Of course PSA pops an add up on my phone for a Dagger slide, milled, with sights for less money than getting my factory slide cut. I ordered it and have not used my factory slide since. I will admit that I was skeptical at first, however the Dagger slide has been 100%.

Gunny - I can't wait to see your builds!

The problem for me is if you watch sales, you can get the pieces so cheap, the good thing for PSA is most of us can't help passing up deals and can't leave them unfinished.

My green one with night sights sits at less than $300. The gray with night sights and optics ready sits at $350. And I have an FDE that will be bare bones that will be at $200 or less depending on shipping for my barrel.

Those are very cool, nice job!

I wish I lived in a Dagger-friendly State, I’d have one for every member of the house. ;)

Can’t wait to see the finished guns Gunny!

Stay safe.

Two things have taken up a lot of my time the last two years and I don’t seem to have much time to post.
One is retirement. I’m so busy now days and can’t see how I ever had enough time to get anything done when I was working.
The second is, I picked up woodturning as a hobby and I’m having lots of fun.
I still try to go shooting once a week. I’m going to try and post a little more, because firearm are my favorite hobby of all.

Staying engaged and doing things that strengthen the body and feed the soul is so important to a healthy retirement plan. It’s not really retiring, it’s changing the life you live!

Take care!

It's good to see you, Gunny.

It's a small world - I retired in June and had hernia surgery a few months ago. :)

Glad you’re feeling better Gunny. My dad always said “Don’t know how I ever found time to work”. I have seen your collection and your wood work, you’re really good at both. The bowl you gave me sits nicely in the kitchen. The old Mossberg you gave me sits in the gun rack restored right next to the one you sold me. Both are prized. The slide looks like another fun project.

I was more the happy to give you that old Mossberg bolt action. I never could find the time to get to it. It has a great home now.
I’m waiting to turn that piece of Cherry you gave me. As soon as I get my new, larger lathe, I’ll turn it.

I just bought the same slide for $200 a couple of weeks back. Over cyber monday I got the ar and dagger lower for $99 so a complete dagger for $250. I believe they had complete slides for $160 a while back. I haven't shot it yet but this would be my second complete dagger plus an extra frame. For some reason my FDE with pmags don't drop free, my other two black frames do.

There was one thing I neglected in my earlier post. Not sure if you are using a Dagger frame or another makers but when I first got my Dagger the magazine release was very stiff. It has loosened up with use. Now it is fine. It is still a little stiff if the magazine is full but it is not difficult to depress if less than full.

What brand of magazines are you using?

The reason I ask is MagPul PMags swell when fully loaded and that has caused them to not drop free and also be harder to fully seat in my Gen 3 Glocks and Polymer 80 builds.

It was that way with both P-mags & OEM Glock mags. It is not that way now. Some people address the difficulty by changing the mag-catch, others by modifying it. I meant to do that but never quite got around to it. I have still been carrying my M&P 2.0 40 Compact so it wasn't a high priority. It seems to have worn in & works properly now though.
