I was thinking about buying a present for my nephew, and thought that an AR 15 would make for a great gift.

Does anyone have a PSA slick side AR? Basically, this is PSA's version of the S&W M&P Sport.

It is without a brass deflector, and I'm wondering if the spent casings will hit him in the face.

Thanks!

I have seen someone shoot a slick side from the opposite way. While it didn't hit him in the face, within the first magazine, a sizzling hot spent cartridge got caught in his shirt between his neck and his collar. Then everyone got to watch him dance!

Often use stripped uppers without dust covers and forward assists [lightweight uppers are *fun*] but definitely not without brass deflectors.

If you want that sort of flexibility, buy from a company that mfrs. true left-hand versions of stripped or complete uppers like Stag Arms.

I have a PSA slick side but, I have never shot it left handed. I am going to range now and I will let you know.

For a Lefty I'd consider nothing else than a Stag Arms left handed AR-15. This is coming from a lefty that owns a Stag Arms Model 3L. I get some weird looks at the range when people see my brass flying the opposite direction :)
