I just talked to my wife. Her friend went to the bank on a Friday afternoon. Then to local Cash and Kerry for some stuff. Just after 1pm and she parks and a guy shows her a gun at her window. Tells her to hand over her purse. She says "NO" so he drags her out of car and takes purse and runs off. BROAD DAYLIGHT in Tampa FL and NOBODY notices a 75yr old lady get dragged out of her car at gunpoint.
I told my wife again to check around her car BEFORE she comes to stop and to place foot FIRMLY on gas if any threat. Even if person with weapon in way drove OVER them if they don't get out of way.

I have a bad habit of dropping my wife off to shop and I nap in the car.....with the doors unlocked:what:
Not anymore.....I do carry ,but I also sleep like a rock....from now on locked doors and try to stay awake......One reason I drop her off and pick her up(when not out cold) is for her protection.....plus I HATE shopping...stuational awarness is goal of mine..

My 1st wife scotched an attempt by several misguided youths to carjack her vehicle back around 1992. They swerved in front of her in their vehicle and hit the brakes, forcing her to stop. Several of them exited their vehicle and ran towards hers. She opened fire on them with a Beretta 21A. They were discomfitted by her actions and retreated in rather poor order to their own vehicle in which they fled the scene

My niece-in-law (soon to be a mother) stopped to pick up a couple of teenage boys who claimed that their car had broken down late one night about a mile from the Sheriff's Dept where she worked. That was the last time she was seen alive. :cuss:

That happened about ten years ago to a nice young lady who's father is a NRA Hunter Safety Instructor, and big time gun nut. Yet she had not cought our gun nut bug and went unarmed.

That episode, and the twin towers demise caused me to become a proud supporter of our 2nd amendment rights!
