Ruger Introduces 3" LCRx .357... finally!!

That might make a good gun to run .38s through. Never shot one, but I've heard the 16oz one bites a bit.

I'm going to get an LCRx some day, just got to figure out which one...

Looks interesting. Frankly, I was never interested in the LCR series because it just seemed cheaper to produce with no benefits. I really have no interest in cheap guns. I've been disappointed by $800 revolvers I've bought, so I'm conditioned to think good ones cost even more.

But the monolithic steel frame is interesting. With that design, can the barrel sleeve be tensioned, or is it just screwed in from the front? What is the trigger like with the fire control in a polymer housing?

What's the level of quality on these LCRx? Wouldn't I be better off with a SP101 Match Champion? I have a longer-barreled J frame in this category and I'm not sure the Ruger does anything for me.

The double action on the centerfire LCR series is better than anything else I've ever used. At least, I like it better. VERY smooth. It is more of a steady application of the same amount of pressure than a building of pressure on the trigger.

And the SP101 doesn't have the same trigger. Otherwise I'd have one of those in .327.

Finally! Now just bring me what I asked for, one just like it in .327! Christmas is over, but if you will make me one for my birthday...

Please Ruger, read this post! I want you to have my money!

(Yes, they are ugly. But, that trigger!)
Amen on the .327. Have the 3" LCRx .38 +P. Great gun. Didn't care for the DA only LCR rimfire's though.

I have the LCRX in 38 Special +P. Both the 1 7/8 and the 3 inch. I have been hoping for one in 327 Federal. Disappointed really. The LCRX shooting +P 38’s can be a handful. Imagine a 357 will be more than most would want to shoot out of the LCRX. Several friends have the LCR 357, it’s a 38 for them. If I am going to shoot 38’s I have what I want.

In 327 Federal, it would be an almost perfect woods gun I think.

FWIW, my 357 is an SP101 3".

I like the exposed hammer on the 3" LCRx.

It's too big IMO to pocket carry, and the hammer is worth having since you would belt carry it anyway.

The 357 version announced is lighter than the S&W M60-15 3", has the adjustable sights and exposed hammer just like the M60-15.

And it's lighter and has a better trigger than the S&W.

Great woods gun.

I think they look good :uhoh: but Im a Ruger (revolver) man, so....

Ive never handled an LCRx, but the 357 LCR does have a nice trigger, as far as DAO goes.

I just picked up a 3" 38 special in a trade. I can't seem to warm up to it. I'll probably be trading it.

Im in on the LCR revolvers ... I have owned several... One now ... I owned a LCR38 , gave it to my nephew when got his carry permit... I traded my LCR9 for a LCR357 that I have now ..
Great triggers .. Light and relaiable ...
I have decided on getting a LCR38 over a S&W 442 PC .. Mostly because of the QC problems with S&W .. Canted barrels and such ....

I own three LCR's. An LCR357, an LCR22WMR and a 3" LCRx22WMR. My LCR357 is my EDC..its trigger is smoother than my SP101 and I've changed both hammer and trigger springs on it. It's glass smooth but nowhere near the LCR.

As far as the polymer trigger control housing goes..it is made of polymer to reduce overall weight of the gun and in no way affects trigger performance.

Overall quality is very good. Out of my three I had to return the LCR22WMR for a cylinder issue. Other than that they've had no issues.
I'll be ordering my LCRx357 as soon as I get my gun funds built back up. Having a 3" with the adjustable rear sight giving me the ability to dial it in to the specific load I'm shooting appeals to me.

I love LCR’s for their light weight, smooth trigger action, and compact size. I own several, and commonly pocket carry a snubby version. Maybe I’m just a wimp, but they seem too light for shooting full power .357 magnums. But if it works for you, I wish you safe and fun shooting.

When I used to have a 340PD I loaded it with 4 38 Spl and a single 357. If the 38s don't solve the problem that 357 should. At the very least the muzzle blast should give whatever is bothering you a heart attack.

That last round definitely lets you know its time to reload ;)

How is the holster selection for the 3” LCR?

I can see one in my future as a woods gun

Of course, a month after I bought the .327 SP101 after I waited years for them to make the 3 inch magnum LCRx revolvers and concluded they were never coming, they come out with the steel frame 3 inch LCRx.

So, it's only a matter of time before they release the .327. I can see any of these 3 inch LCRx revolvers, centerfire ones at least, with a Pachmyer Guardian Grip as the new top conceal carry revolver from now on. Excellent triggers, grip that carries like a compact, but once deployed is a full grip.

I have a 38 special LCR. It's my most common EDC. The trigger is fantastic. The light weight means that I can pocket carry without the pocket being pulled down like there's a boat anchor in it. My friend has the 357 model. To me shooting 357's through it is NBD. It doesn't bother him either, but we are pretty big middle-aged guys who've been shooting handguns since forever.

I'm starting to really want an LCRx in 22lr. Sorry to thread drift, but comments on those would be appreciated.

I can't speak for the LCRx .22LR but I have a 3" LCRx .22WMR. The major difference outside of LR vs Mag is 8 shot (LR) vs 6 shot (Mag)...the biggest complaint is the hammer spring is pretty heavy, which is inherent on .22 rimfires. There's plenty of disagreement on how heavy the trigger pull should be. I'm in the camp that it could be a lot lighter and still get the job done. I understand that Wolff is on the cusp of introducing lighter springs for this model.

All that being said, I truly enjoy shooting my LCRx. The adjustable rear sight allows one to tailor it to the specific round they intend to shoot.
Holsterwise, I found a Galco Combat Master at my LGS made for a Taurus that is a great fit. While designed for a larger cylinder it fits pretty snug around the LCRx...it also accomadates my SP101DAO.
