As the title suggest, does anyone know if Ruger suggest a particular no rounds of to be fired to consider the gun broken in? I went to the Ruger site and I did the search function but did not find what Ruger recommends.
I just bought one today and am also wondering about how much a second factory mag should cost and if anyone has gotten a reasonable deal and where?
Any and all input is appreciated.

Since you just obtained the new pistol try this.
Field strip and clean and lube.
Then while sitting around watching T.V. rack the slide about 250 times and then re-lube the slide and take it out and shoot it hard.
I own two LCP's and did the same thing to them and broke my brothers in the very same way.
My daily carry LCP has several hundred rounds through it and has not once choked on any kind of ammo I have run through it.
You might have an issue or two at first but most of these LCP's are pretty good and reliable pistols.

www.Ivanhoewarehouse.com has some great prices on magazines but the other day when I checked they were out of 6 round LCP magazines.

Don't know if there is anything official from Ruger . However I would break it in with a couple of hundred rounds . I got a new one a couple of weeks ago and put 50 flawless rounds of range amo through it. I paid lower twenty's for a spare Ruger mag . Hope this helps.

I racked the slide and dry fired multiple times, then I shot about 80 rounds down mine without an issue.

I just bought my gen 2 LCP the other day for $269 and got a spare mag for $29.99.

Mine worked out of the box. I fired 100 rounds of JHP through it and everything was fine. I guess I should take it out again because it's a fun little gun.

I thought it was fun to shoot too. I've read of many people complaining about the recoil. Recoil to me wasn't bad, trigger finger hurt after 75 rounds was it.

Mine was 100% from round one. I found a few spare mags on gunbroker for around $20. That was a couple years ago, though. CDNN has 6-rounders for $30 and 7-rounders for $34 right now.
