I’ve been primarily a 22LR shooter for the 40 yrs, shooting in numerous bullseye leagues, but last week I bought a Ruger PC Carbine takedown rifle in 9mm. It’s the only centerfire firearm I own. I then installed the PCC in. Magpul PC backpacker stock. So far the trips to the range have been interesting, slightly more recoil than I expected, but very easy and fun to shoot

Glad you enjoy it. I Love mine, its now one of my SHTF options. Thats a 33rd Glock mag in the pic (Magpul). I also have a cartridge sleeve on the stock that holds about 20 rds, and tucked under the sleeve is another 33rd mag and a G19 mag. So if I need to pick it up and go after something in a hurry, I've got over 80rds with me in one package.

I agree with all those positive comments on that Magpul stock; it's very cool. I've had a Ruger PC Carbine since July, 2018. When they first came out some gun writer doing a review described them as a "10-22 on steroids" and to me, as a 10/22 owner also, it's a good analogy. Not a problem to be found on mine yet, and the only bad thing I've heard is the ambidextrous charging handle that can be put on either side can sometimes loosen up after a bunch of rounds. Been keeping an eye on mine and it's O.K. so far. Another nice feature is getting a Glock mag. well included to allow using Glock magazines if desired. As a Glock owner it's a thing of beauty to have magazine commonality with my 9mm Glock 19.

The PC is one of my favorite Ruger designs. Whoever approved the magwell inserts designed not only for in-house magazines, but also allowing the use of mags from a huge pistol competitor, is a genius. My only issue has been the fore end screw working loose when shooting. A drop of blue loc tite and all has been great. :)

I added a red dot and a batch of Glock magazines and copied a THR members’ idea about converting a Husky 22” tool carrier into a rifle case with Kaisen foam cut to fit inside.

Congrats on a great purchase .

Stay safe.

The disassembly screws should not unscrew on their own. They certainly hold fine on both my PC Carbine and PC Charger. No locktite necessary.

Add me to the VERY happy with these list. Bought one off the auction as soon as one dropped to $525 at one place when they were still all buy impossible to buy locally. The mag well to let me use Glock mags was the big selling point. I too had the same problem with the forearm screw working loose while shooting. Did the same thing as another poster, drop of Blue on it each time I take it off to give a good cleaning. Wife who is VERY recoil sensitive loves the little rifle so its her go to home protection long gun.

Oh yeah I'm in the LOVE camp for the Ruger PC Carbine. Mine has been absolutely stone reliable notbone single issue. It's pleasingly accurate and for inside the house it's my wife's go to long gun should she ever need it. 21 round Magpul Glock mags in an easy to shoot long gun is a formidable weapon for home defense. I get the 12 gauge and 00 Buckshot. Pray to God we never have to use them.

As I live in New York State, the Ruger PCC is basically the only PCC available, combining a semi-auto, with a adjustable stock, pistol grip and removable mags, on top of a 10 shot mag limit, is a recipe for disaster. I just glad the model and the quality of the available one, for me, is so good.
