Hi,
I’m looking for opinions on the Ruger Silent-SR ISB. It’s the integrally suppressed barrel assembly for the takedown 10/22. I did a search, but only came up with a thread from when it was introduced.
Thanks for your time.

Don't waste your money on an integral for a semi auto. A good muzzle mounted can like the TBAC TD22 or Mask will be every bit as quiet at the ear, and usable on other hosts.

Integrals can be awesome on manual action guns, but pointless on blowback autoloaders due to port noise.

Didn’t honestly think of that. I liked how compact it is lengthwise. Thanks, I’ll keep looking.

That is the only good reason to go integral on a semi auto .22, to have a short one-stamp suppressed gun.

But for the price of the ISB, you could buy a premium muzzle can and pay the tax to SBR your rifle on a F1.

I handled and shot the Ruger next to the Gemtech Mist, ended up buying the Mist.

Somewhat agree with MachIV . . . only real reason to go integral is length. It certainly wouldn't be my first suppressor but I think I have 8 or 10 .22 suppressors and wanted to try an integral. I don't regret buying the Mist but it isn't any quieter (to me, I don't have any fancy test equipment) than my Mask or TBAC.

Did the ruger silent SR (the 22 can with the vaguely phallic baffle stack) ever take off in any fashion? I never see it mentioned and ahve never seen one around. I thought that it might be the start of some affordable cans if ruger got economies of scale and casting behind it, but after it's release at a price point similar to everybody elses...... crickets.

Neither Ruger silencer has taken off in any fashion. Ruger has done a poor job of marketing both of them. I have a Silent SR and like it.

It's a very affordable can compared to the Dead Air Mask...around $80-100 more affordable.
If you want a $99 silencer........I can hook you up with a Rebel. But you get what you pay for.:D

The ruger was only like 30-50 bucks cheaper than what I paid for my mask. And I just cannot see how if a major company wanted to make something in large scale they couldn't get the cost down to around $150-$200. I mean, it's all aluminum, which is cheaper and easier to machine than steel/titanium, but you can buy a baffle stack style "solvent trap" from china for about $10-15. [And if I wanted a $99 silencer, that's what I would do. ]
